Definitely not for me. I'll stick with a c5 & c6 but I guess it's technology that is being focused on.

Just waking up in the morning and I didn't expect this many replies.

few good jokes going on here too lol

So many mixed feelings on the c8 and a couple of good pointers some have made both pro and con.
Just got back from the owner's reveal....It's even better in person.

I was definitely not a fan of the pics I saw this morning, but now that I have time to watch these youtube videos and seeing the red, I'm a huge fan now.

The car is hideous. It's a mess front to back. Those side scoops are embarrassing. Look soooo out of place and stuck on as an after thought. It looks like a $50k vette for sure.

Base car proportions don’t look right to me. I’m a buyer when this version comes out

I'm excited about it now that I've seen it w/o camo and the interior.

Seriously, how can any true Corvette enthusiast be disappointed? The Corvette Design Team under Tadge’s leadership may have just saved our beloved Corvette from extinction.

In fact, I really DON’T want any replies from ANY baby boomers just from those 55 years or young.

I'm 47 and I think I was the youngest person at the reveal today. Seriously.
I do however, think that this design will attract younger buyers.

It looks stunning and it is technologically advanced over the C7 and every other sports car priced below $100,000. Just like the C7 it is a supercar for the everyday average person without the assets to buy a foreign supercar that is ridiculously priced and costs $5,000 for a maintenance service.

I wasn't feeling it from a lot of the prediction pics but damn, really liking the real thing. Going from a jsb C6 Z to a TR Stingray when they first hit, there was a lot of hate on the C7, especially the tail lights. The most negative comments here so far are tame.
Seeing my first C7 Z up close produced that sinking feeling as I walked back to the year old Z51 so I'll show some restraint this time and wait for the wide body, that will be sick.

What's your definition of "young"?

Most young people probably can't afford this Fiero.

*On a side note, should I go for a Carbon 65 Z06, or a 2015 modified (800hp) Z06? I still have the first motor trend issue of the King of the Hill ZR1, so that has a soft spot in my heart, but honestly, that enormous wing is a turn off. And truth be told, I AM looking for a convertible. Any advice would be appreciated. Enjoy the weekend!*[/QUOTE]

Well you present an intriguing question, I must say. Do you prefer originality or additional performance? Are you more of a collector, or does horsepower ring your bell? I am a horsepower guy, so I would buy the 800 horsepower ZO6, but my buddy is a collector/car show trophy guy, so he would but the Carbon edition ZO6. Be aware that the 8-speed automatic transmission tends to have problems. The 7-speed manual seems to be good. Good luck with your decision, and have fun!

I loved the C6 when it first came out, first vette I'd given a passing glance since the 60s, got a new jsb Z in 2008. When the Stingray hit I got one of the first ones, what an improvement - the first Corvette with a decent interior and no creaking like it was going to snap in half backing down the driveway. Had to endure a lot of grief about the rear end from the purists but from everyone else it was like a short stint as a rock star.
The speculation pics had me underwhelmed but I'm really excited about the real thing and will wait for the wide body (they always do one).

You are my dream response for I discount my fellow baby boomer responses because the fact is the future of the Corvette is not in their hands.

Personally, I don't get it, you are given a chance to own a $60KUS to start mid engine car. That supposedly can do 0-60 in 3 seconds which will give a McLaren 570S nightmares and you don't like it? Personally if they produced a replica of a Bullet, offered it in Copper and Grey like a real bullet, I would still be happy.

Do I care it has a Camaro-ish back end..... nope
Do I care the steering wheel does not meet the desires of some.....nope
Do I care if the console is not up to what anyone expected..............nope

Do I care that GM has offered me a car I can afford that is stylish and goes like stink ........................YUP
Do I want to kiss the GM execs? Only the female ones....but in a moment of weakness I could do the "guys" too YUP YUP YUP!!!!

It has a Corvette badge and it's a Chevy made by GM so yes, it is a Corvette.
