I'm loving the few details I got wrong. I've absolutely loved living with this car in the virtual realm, spinning it around to look at it from all angles, and I am a big fan of this evolutionary design.
I missed the mark on elements of the front end most of all. Many of those details were hiding in plain sight, except the outside edge of the grille. Scoop truthers beware, you were bested by someone with a lot of experience successfully decrypting camoflage. Any time someone said the scoop won't extend across the door had me shaking my head. But good design instincts allowed me divine the scoop blade shape, existence, and color shown here. I took a lot of guff early on about it, and especially when I refused to speculate on other shapes, and GM must have been shaking their heads at my intuition. FVS did a great job of crafting scoop and blade alternatives, even though his initial instincts were as good as mine. I also backed off of my initial correct mirror setup.
Man, I can't wait to put an engine in the boot. I will miss not seeing the convertible, if the leak is correct about it not being shown tonight. I will be watching the reveal with all of you but I am relieved it leaked a bit early.
Thanks to all my render supporters, especially those who expressed appreciation for my skills, even when they didn't like the design. I do enjoy design disagreement conversations when they are presented with respect. I hope to update my model with the correct bits over the next month. I'm modeling the stingray emblem right now. If the convertible reveal is set for another date (which, frankly, would be smart) I'll continue to post pix of it and some of the coupe too.

That’s the real deal - the same photos (just not photoshopped) I was shown by an insider. (Unless the whole thing was and is an elaborate hoax). The devil is in the details - FVS got so very close but the real thing still just that much sharper. I think GM knocked it out of the park. I cannot wait to see it in person. The only two things I would change - steering wheel shape and the infotainment screen. These are minor.

Yep, good gears, DCT trans, and mid engine grip. They say the auto trans will have a 3.60 rear and optional Z51 gear 3.80. Thats a ton of gear with a auto trans. The article says the auto trans is the 8 speed ZF sourced unit instead of the 7 speed Tremec DCT .
