I fit fine in C5 and C6, but C7 had my head in the headliner with the top of the windshield at my nose. I have to duck slightly in my C6 to see stop lights, but my view would be way too obstructed in the C7. It reminded me of my wife's Solstice when we had it. Top up, it was like the C7 for front visibility. Top down, I could look over the top of the windshield. I could drive it, but didn't like it. Seating position, shoulder room and headroom are my deal killers. I could live without the manual since I'm keeping my C6 ZR1 even if I do pick up a C8 convertible.

EDIT: Side note, I also need room in the foot well for my size 15 shoes.

Thats one hell of a silly comment if i ever heard one. Theres a deal breaker on just about anything whether it be cars, homes, relationships, job/career, etc. etc. Its called "preference" and no one should ever settle or compromise on the things they want especially if they are spending THEIR own hard earned money on it!

For me its 3 things:

Looks: This relates to the base/z51. Even if the base looks good, it will almost undoubtedly look plain jane (just like the c6/c7) once the wide bodies come out. So i'll be curious if the base/z51 can hold its own in the looks department once the Z drops

Price: This relates to the higher performing models. How much will the Z go for?

Performance: No doubt the Z will be a force. What will the base-grand sports do. If it isn't much more than what my current '14 z51 does i'll definitely not be looking at either of these and instead save my pennies for a Z

I'm a manual fanboy, but have no issues with giving a DCT a try. Like others, i'm a lil concerned after seeing the current a8...

Well at least this time, there is no one complaining about not having round taillights. I remember all the comments on this forum before the C7 was introduced.

No, they're complaining about "Camaro" tail lights. It's deja vu all over again.

No manual = no sale...automatics are what killed Grand Prix racing for me - man and machine, no click, click, click...

Then why be here. We know it won't have a manual.

I bet your wrong with all your birdy info. at least on the manul part. numbers are not there to support it dropping it, and putting a stick trans axle in the back of the car is already where it was in vets so not huge leaps in comparisons to new trans only.

1. The interior shots leaked show no way to put a manual stick in the console. The footwell has a huge dead pedal because it's optimized for not having a manual option.

2. No manual transaxle exists that is rated to the torque output of the LT and future motors.

3. Everyone on the inside says there's no manual.

EDIT - Go search my other "birdy" posts.... they've all been correct.

Could it be that the 2020 and possibly 2021 is DCT only and a true manual returns for 2022 or even 2021? Remember same thing happened before, 1981 was the last year of the manual transmission until well into the 1984 MY production.

It is possible a manual could come later in a GS, Z06, etc version or some special edition. Especially once sales flat line and they need to generate more interest.

It will come down to sales and demand.

That, is what many of us believe GM may have in the works.

All the more reason scores of us are not going to jump in buying a C8, unless and until it has a manual transmission. ..

By then, we'll be able to assess the C8 more fully, get MSRP discounts ordering new, AND have the design nuances and power plant options that come along in the 2nd and 3rd years...

Um, hate to brake it to you, but the numbers do in fact support that most C7 sales have an auto trans. With the leak of the interior and actual proof of a DCT, there's not going to be a manual option for the time being. I agree however, that perhaps with the GS/Z06 there might be a manual option but that's a few years down the line minimum.

This whole discussion reads like it was ripped right out of the supramk5 forum. Soon we'll be hearing that Mazda's next Miata will be auto-only..,..

Yes, a nasty and stupid comment to write. Just plain nasty.

I myself haven't passed judgement on anyone, you clearly didn't read what I wrote in my post or you didn't comprehend it.

As already posted. Number support a manual more then they support a convertible.. 17 % are verts.

vs 25%. Sticks. (Over 50% of Z cars are sticks)

i am not saying it will have one. But sure hope it does. And they are giving up on a large market percentage if not.

I would love to have a manual. Maybe GM is trying to weed out the manual buyers and lure in the millennial gen who dont know how to drive a stick . Just my 2cents

Needs to be close to 1000 hp. AWD. Around $150k. I'd be all over it. Don't care much for any base model stuff.
