Thanks for the strawman argument. Got any other irrelevant comments?

So you work at GM or have inside information, right?

So the C8 will be as successful as the iPhone? I don't think so.

The FE Corvette has been successfully produced for over 65 years continuously. How long was the ME Pontiac produced?

Nah, I think you've got that covered.

And I still think my idea is far more likely than C7.5.

Name a model of car that has ever been made in 2 completely different configurations at the same time with the same nameplate-not to include the mustang fastback/hatchback and coupe or corvette coupe and FRC as those were simply the difference in roof/quarter panels and trim similar to the convertible option. And the only time I have ever seen two different generations of the same vehicle produced simultaneously was the 2004 F150 and 2004 F150 heritage, which was the previous gen f150 with a special badge,

At times I wonder if some people still honestly think that the FE will continue on or if they are just trolling? The ME will be the only platform offered after the end of the FE C7 production. Some people better get a grip and get used to that. IF you are really that dead set on the FE platform that C7 better last you for decades OR you'll be looking at the Camaro going forward. Sorry not sorry...that's just how it will be.

There are several other options and there likely will be more if Corvette decides to abandon the FE market which it has dominated for 65 years. I'm sure all of GM's competitors would love to see the FE Corvette go away for good.

JK and JL Wrangler were produced side by side for a few months, but that is because they were selling so well FCA hadn't closed out all the JK orders when the JL went online. That certainly isn't the case with a languishing C7, which I just saw a Les Stanford billboard advertising at 20% off MSRP.

And GM is still making a profit, as is Stanford. Once the C7 is refreshed for the first time in 7 years, it will sell at higher prices.

"General Motors will auction the final production seventh generation Chevrolet Corvette this summer, with the proceeds benefiting the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

The announcement, along with confirmation of the Next Generation Corvette’s development, was made this evening by General Motors Chairman and CEO Mary Barra, who was honored at the foundation’s annual Footsteps to the Future Gala in New York.

“GM, GMC and Chevrolet support the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and its commitment to injured and fallen military members, first responders and their families,” said Barra. “The sale of this iconic Corvette will help the foundation continue its good work, and pave the way for the Next Generation Corvette that we will introduce on July 18.”

The final seventh gen Corvette — a black 2019 Z06 model — will be auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson Northeast sale in Connecticut June 28. Registration information is available at www.barrett-jackson.com."

So the final C7 will be auctioned 6/28? Really?

I don't think that car exists so auctioning it will be hard to do. I've never seen a ghost car being auctioned.

Huh? Obviously they will have a C7 that looks just like the last one that will be manufactured. The winner will have to wait to get the actual car. Heck, they could just auction off a piece of paper with a photo of a car on it if they wanted. There is no need to have that specific car on stage.

So they are just auctioning the right to buy the last car whenever that is produced in the future. Nobody actually knows when the last C7 will be made or what happens to the FE after that.
Thanks for clarifying since a lot of deranged people think the last FE Corvette ever will be built 6/28. BTW, that would be a valuable car!

While we don’t know the exact last day of C7 production, several forum vendors have stated last day to order a C7 Coupe is 7/18/19. Expect it’ll roll off BG about 6 weeks later. Verts have already closed.

Since the C8 is ME and C7 FE is ending later this summer doesn’t appear there is a follow on FE in the works. Sure they have never said they won’t, but they’ve also not said a lot of things. If there is a follow on FE, it’d be one of the best kept GM secrets ever since one has never been seen.
