Yep, it's funny, in the past was never an issue with SC (have had vanity plates for all 6 Vettes) until the C8. You just submitted three options labeled with your choice 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Usually got my first.
BUT with all the modern Acronyms they have apparently been burned allowing some nasty ones to get thru. No issue with my Grand Sport where I uses ZORA . BUT for the C8 there were lines where you had to tell what words, Acronyms meant. Told them who Zora was!
SO CLOSE! I was surprised last October when I applied the plate number was still available. If I get a ticket I’ll erase the 8 🤣🤣🤣
It's funny you say that because of something that just happened to me recently.
My EZ-pass account was charged $17 because someone else went through the Lincoln Tunnel. My account showed my license plate was scanned at the toll, and the transponder wasn't involved. I thought possibly someone saw my plate online and made a sign to cover their front plate with it, but a better theory emerged.
Someone else in NH has the same characters that are on my plate, but theirs isn't a Veteran's vanity plate. The DMV allows that, but apparently the toll equipment didn't detect the correct plate.
Even worse, I can't just send them a digital copy of my registration--which the "PANYNJ" toll authority is requesting--to prove that I have a Veteran's plate, so they can compare to the photo that was snapped as the other car passed through. I have to bring my registration to a walk-in center, so they can see it in person!
Gave this one up in NY so it might still be Available. They borked about giving it to me so I did it online and the computer gave it to me.
Wouldn't let me have it here in Delaware.
