Agreed, don't forget dealer addendum. Depending on the price of the car I would expect $15-20k markups to be some of the first 6 months of buyers.

This. I've never understood what people get out of trying to be the first to own some mass produced product. It's rather ridiculous.

This car isn't even announced yet, and it's already generating profits for pretentious YouTubers.

LOL. So dealer took your money and will sit on it until they get an allocation for a build. I did this once on an M3. Had to get a refund because they couldn’t get one and went with another dealer that had me a production number immediately. Good luck.

I don’t think they are getting that much. You most certainly wouldn’t be getting that if you left it in the bank

Mike's YT channel has done well for him in a few short years considering it started out just for fun/hobby. I remember when he just got his 1st yellow Z06 1LZ (2016), after getting rid of his white Hellcat, & he was still working his 9 - 5 job. He said in a video way back then that when he started his channel he didn't even know that you could make money off of YT.

A Chevy dealer salesman, who goes to the same Gym as I do, says "As far as our dealership goes, we do not have any OFFICIAL word from GM that such car exists". No sales person is allowed to talk about it, ask for deposit and etc.
I said, "Sure, if you talk about ME C8, who is going to buy all these C7s on the lot". He said "Exactly".

  3. a car that is going to start out at $169K? Wrong. GM isn't stupid enough to set a such a silly starting price. The factory wouldn't have any to build at that price and GM would loose money at that price. Look at the rumors of the price of the C7 before they released the base price. It surprised everyone how low that was.

Congratulations!

I put $100.00 deposit today. If I hate the car I can get my money back.

This is just dealers making money. It's silly. There's no guarantee that you will get it any earlier. In fact, the biggest Vette dealers will get their allocation first and the little dealers will get them later.

I'm not putting any money "down" on a car that I don't even know what it costs, let alone looks like or performs.

This practice is only going to end up with upset customers wondering where their cars are and why someone else got theirs first. GM should stop it.

Once they start building the ME they will keep building them. Unless a customer plans on bubble wrapping one for the next 30 years or it's RICK HENDRICK'S it doesn't matter

Received an email from Kerbeck. They are not accepting deposits until the car is announced and allocation is known. As well as the price.
Makes sense to me.

how does one go about putting a deposit down on a vehicle that no one has seen, has no official name and best of all, no pricing available? What if the ME Whatever isn't even a Corvette and the C8 is a warmed over C7......What's that old P. T. Barnum quote regarding one being born every minute?

I ain't mad at him, but he's starting to make a habit of starting a topic in a new thread and instead of writing about said topic, he posts a YouTube video to try and get it view time up.
