I wonder what the time will be with some R888R or Cup2R tires. Be nice to see the times with stickier tires and using Dragy.
This is also bound to increase dealer market adjustments.

This is sure to draw out the "Cody Crybabies" whose only goto will be they like the noise at 8500 rpms. Can't wait to see some 1/4 mile times.

The in-car PDR is always way off 0-60, usually off by a minimum of 0.3 to 0.5.
On my 2023 C8 Z51 HTC the PDR always said 2.8, but my Dragy said a low of 3.19 and usually in the 3.3 range.
I won't even look at the PDR in my 2024 C8 Z06, but in 2 tries in 55 degree weather it did the same 3.19 0-60 as the C8 Z51, the summer tires don't like cold weather.
My Porsche 911 Turbo S does repeatable 2.6s 0-60 in 37 degree weather on hard all-season radials, it hits hard.
I would think the Eray on all-seasons will be at least as fast 0-60 in cold weather also.
In the summer I expect my Porsche and the Eray will be even faster on sticky streets.
Initially I wanted the Eray, but I am more about sound than 0-60 acceleration, after I heard the Z06 I was smitten.
From a roll the Z06 is an animal.
If the GT3 Porsche was AWD I would want that over my Turbo S for the sound and my Turbo S is pretty much unbeatable on the street.
The Eray is the perfect Vette for those wanting a fast car for all seasons, if I didn't have the Turbo S I might own an Eray and a Z06.

I've never been called a crybaby, but I love the sound of the C8 Z06 engine, but my only thing is...

You'll notice this poster was also greeted with a huge amount of skepticism for the accuracy of that timer. This isn't anything new or exclusive to the E-Ray. It's accuracy issues have been known for years. There is no need to "what if" an imaginary scenario with that timer.
This is all just another reason why I really look forward to seeing a test between these cars. Side by side, same time, same place, same conditions. Something like an Edmunds U-Drag can't happen soon enough. I'm positive the E-Ray will be faster out of the gate, but it will be interesting to see how things change as the race goes on.

How about this... a Z06 doing 0-60 in 2.1 and 2.2 according to the onboard timer.

Is the 2024 Corvette E-Ray quicker than the 2023 Corvette Z06? We explore that using numbers generated from our last episode, where the Z06 beat a Porsche 911 GT3 (992), an Audi R8 V10 Performance, and almost kept up with a Ducati Panigale V4 SP2.

There is a video out there already. I believe its on youtube. I watched it. Eray, Z06 and another car. I think it was a lambo. They ran 1/4 mile on a track all lined up side by side. The eray jumped out of the hole by probably 4 or 5 cars on the Z and at the end of the quarter eray was about 2 cars ahead yet. I would guess another 300' or so the Z would have caught up or taken the lead.

After having a 611 rwhp C6Z go 169 MPH in the half mile then had a full weight 800 rwhp LT4 ZL1 run 9s in the quarter and 60-130 in 5.2s like clockwork I knew C8 wasn't the platform for adding big power given the results. If I was getting an LT2 car (E-Ray or Stingray) would do the simple bolt-ons Cordes recommends and leave it alone.

I've yet to see any truly impressive track or Dragy times with forced induction on C8s. Not suggesting they don't exist but on the LT4 platform there were endless examples. There's plenty of C8 dyno numbers but those don't show the whole picture. I'm aware HPT availability is still in it's infancy and currently no TCM tuning is also a limitation but the lack of real world results is disappointing. Especially considering the cost. Gearing is most of the reason.

Which is why a boosted LT2 in the ER should be pretty much god-mode...which is what I predicted the day they announced the ER's powertrain. Adding ponies that come into play above 4000 RPM will put the kibosh on being reeled in.
