My E-Ray Came Home in Rain.
It rained the whole time I drove the E-Ray 40+ miles home from the dealer.
Thought the Pic below was appropriate! Took Pics of my prior 4 Vettes in front of the house on a sunny day. No sun today nor will there be much of tomorrow. BUT I have my part of the PDI left to do as I instruct the dealer not to wash the car. Actually, it was pretty clean as it came off the Jack Cooper Truck. All but water spots on the side skirts. They were washed off today!
Ride home was interesting. Where I would have driven my two C7s and C8 in Weather Mode I dove mostly in Sport. Heck, I have an AWD Vette, why not. I hit a few big puddles. Water splashed up as high as the fender tops but no trauma. Car stayed straight. Taking back roads, there was often no traffic, and I tested the brakes to see about the statement "They don't stop well for first ~200 miles." I'd agree. They felt better toward the end, perhaps I was just used to having to apply more pressure. I did not have time to set my drives modes, which like my 2020 C8 will be Z Mode and My Mode, brakes set at most aggressive pressure. That is what I was used to.
After I made a short stop when I restarted it went into Touring. Drove a short while there and in a safe stretch, where it was in 7th, I pressed the throttle aggressively. It downshifted and was at 4000 rpm when I backed off. Rear tires spun but it stayed straight. Stopped when I hit 4000 rpm and lifted.
Steering at first felt a bit sluggish but on the twist narrow road I live on for the 2 miles from the highway it was very responsive at that slower speed. All in time.
Hard to tell but it's raining on the E-Ray as it did the trip home from the dealer. Nice to have All Wheel Drive! We changed from a great tree to fountain Urns!

In fact, decided to break away from Wheler Dealers TV program and install my 1st Mod! Wheels to dirty from driving ~50 miles in rain I'll wash first for actual pic. But here is a pic from when I bought! I thought the Pearl Nickle wheels finish would be a perfect match for Cacti. Could not be more pleased! And the 1st Vette in 7 I didn't opt for extra cost OEM Option. Peral Nickle come as the standard for E-Rays.
I know a bit "hokey" but better than the plastic, no character, ones that come with the car. I actually have a "stash" of many caps, bought over the years, like Jake etc. But these aluminum, technically good quality with rubber gasket seal will do for now!

Thanks. About 10 years ago, after rolling in 3 grass front yards, decided enough. Too many trees and shade in most places. Not one blade of grass to mow now. But a lot of different high grasses, plants that like shade and dear won't eat!
Back yard converted a kidney shaped pool we didn't use into 11 waterfalls that flow 24/7! All overlook Lake we are on!

Side by side, you can tell how overstyled and fugly most c8 OEM wheel offerings (and about 90% of aftermarket offerings) are just too damn busy. ER's stock wheels are one of the few whose understated simplicity really looks great on the C8.

SIDEBAR
The advantage of Forged wheels is the extra strength of the hub/spokes allows a lighter center. Prior C7/C8 wheels were "flow formed" so barrel was about the same strength. But cast centers had to be "beefier" to achieve the required strength.

I agree the Pearl Nickel E-Ray wheels are fantastic looking, the best looking standard C8 wheels in my opinion. The C7 Grand Sport Pearl Nickel wheels were also great looking standard wheels. Please post side profile pictures showing your wheels in the bright sunshine. Like to see how bright they look in the sunshine. Enjoy your new E-Ray.

Hmm, drove home in rain from dealer yesterday! Doing what I can on my part of PDI today but now setting the many options waiting till ~noon to wash as I tell dealer not to. I'll wash, claybar and use my 2 step Zaino! But still chance of rain! Unusual for NE SC but no sun even tomorrow! Will take pics then. Will add to my PDF of PDI when I finish, hopefully tomorrow.

Yep, pretty easy if you have a pump that can lift like this one. Takes water from a ~300 gallon below ground reservoir at the end and pumps, in my case up about 4 feet. Then streams split with rocks placed by trial and error to control flow over each flat rock waterfall.
