New Member C8 Eray...
Hello all. Hopefully I did this right. This will be my first Corvette. I'm 60 years old and have purchased 46 new vehicles as well as dozens of summer and winter toys. How I got here; I was at my local dealer in Michigan just before I turned 30 looking at a Corvette in the showroom. My salesman whom I had already purchased about 6 new vehicles from walked over and said Randy you're not going to buy that. He was right just not practical or necessary. I had 3 young children at home. Fast forward to age 40 a few weeks away and back at the dealer looking at a ZR1. Now my salesman walked over and asked if I was going to do it. Keep in mind this is another 8 new vehicles later. I did not buy it. As soon as I heard rumor's about the Eray I marched into my dealer and asked my dealer to start an Eray list where I was #1 on it. I never thought my dealer would get an Eray allocation let alone an early one and quite frankly didn't think about it very often until my phone rang in early October and it was the GM at my dealer. Somehow he received an allocation for an Eray. Now, at 60, I'm on it and this is my retirement car. HTC 3LZ, Rapid blue, tension blue, orange belts, orange calipers. Per Shane at NCM I am at 3000 status with a TPW of 02.12.2024. New Eray SOP January? Will post updates.

Congrats! I'm a bit envious. It's looking more and more like this is going to be a "2 years out" thing for me--since I just got my spot reserved this month...

Congratulations and welcome.
My order is also setting at 3000 and looks like will be built in February.
I decided on a Red Mist with as much exposed carbon fiber as orderable given all the constraints at the time.

Very cool, but you learned a hard lesson. Now that your old at 60, you should have bought at 30 as some folks around here are.

Not sure when it went to 3000. Very difficult to get info from my dealer. Seems that I am able to get more info than the dealer. I am getting my info from a good friend who has had five C8's so for with his last delivery of a Z06 on Oct 24, museum delivery. He has this figured out. My order was accepted Oct 19 using the dealer allocation.

Wow, nice configuration! I'm #1 on my dealer's list but he's a small dealer and will get very little allocation. The E-Ray will replace my C8 3LT coupe that I sold a few months ago (for what I paid LOL).

I got on Stingray Chevrolet’s Future Variant List in November 2021 while awaiting production of my first ever Stingray 2022 SFM HTC 2LT which I took delivery of in February’22 at NCM. I’m #42 so it’s been 2 years already with another 1 1/2 to go most likely. “C’ é la vie say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell.”

2 years to wait for a "future model variant" is understandable (many put down money for a ZR1 back in 2020!) I'm just worried that putting down money for a 1-model-year-out car that already started production the year before--is still not soon enough. And this is 5 years into production; a year after the 2nd highest production run of any year corvette; and without the insane backlog of previous MY. With my luck, that will mean that I'll get bumped to 2026, and the color I want in 2025 will be bumped for 2026.

Update. I was given a TPW of Feb 12. That was pushed out to April 1. I was expecting another bump. I just received an Email from a friend who is regularly in contact with the Corvette museum. He was actually there today. My Eray build starts tomorrow 04/03 and is expected to finish on Thursday 04/04. VIN 1G1YM3D4XR5500231. My wedding anniversary is 04/04. Pretty cool anniversary gift for us.
