That doesn't look like ELB to me. Is that the new blue?

Why do they bother making videos when they can’t even build enough Z06s?

Good question.

Apples and oranges, I think. Two different parts of the company that GM can do simultaneously.

Of course, they want to sell ERays, and will probably build more of them than Z06s -- as they probably should because it's a much better car for most people -- but I also think that video didn't really provide any new information, which is disappointing.... pure marketing.

The problem is that we currently have the choice between orange-red and copper-red. I want red-red, crimson red or maybe candy-apple red if I must go metallic.

Yes, that's the new blue. The videos of it in the bright snow conditions make it look different from other pictures of it, as I think it's reflecting some of the white back.

If you look for other pics of the E-Ray, you'll see the new blue look different, closer to ELB. If it looked like the video in the snow all the time, I'd love it.

Agree. IMO the plan was most Corvettes would be hybrids to meet early government dictated mpg. The next variant I had predicted would operate more "Prius Like," i.e. when driving casually, car forced to start in electric only until ~40 mpg (where much gasoline energy is wasted,) forced Stop/Start. BUT both GM, Ferrari (and others) were waiting for a "government" to take the blame by forcing higher mpg. No sports car guy wants forced "Prius Like" operation (still would use both hybrid motor and ICE in aggressive starts with large throttle opening. Only EPA mpg was required at the very low hp operation it uses.) Would need different software and perhaps a bigger battery.

Now looks like the strong push with GM complying is ONLY Zero Fossil fuel cars allowed.

In 2004, GM announced that for 2005, Torch Red would be going away in favor of a less orange, slightly darker red to be named Victory Red. I had a 2005 C6 in Victory Red. I remember it being brand new, side-by-side at the dealership next to my Torch Red C5 when I was trading it for the Victory Red C6. I was kind of disappointed with the Victory Red on the C6 seeing it parked next to my Torch Red C5. I kept that Victory Red C6 until 2010 when it was announced Torch Red was coming back. Ordered a 2010 Torch Red C6 from MacMulkin, and I was happy again.

Been that way for 20 years. Save 2005 precision? red was red red. I don't understand why.

When I got my C8 3 years ago the orange in TR bothered me so much I had the whole car wrapped in a purer red, Avery Carmine Red. It looked so much better to my eyes.

There are plenty vette owners that prefer Torch Red over other purer shades of red. As a reminder to those not here for very long, Precision Red replaced Torch for MY2005 and lasted only a couple of months into production before GM had to replace it with Victory Red as the outcry was so strong. Victory as I remember was already a standard red across other GM cars. So different strokes for different folks. My favorite yellow is Velocity but there are others that preferred Millennium, Accelerate, etc.

Lost the ability to be rational and tide a car discussion with their political stands/views.

Can't go wrong with any of the C8 variants. And a great time to be a car enthusiast in general.

Gm takes so long to build these vettes... by the time they have them in the masses they are advertising for the next big thing... build the freaking cars then worry about the rest.

I cant buy a Z06 , will never see the ERay..

Imagine if GM actually built them like they used to and kept the price at MSRP how many they would sell!!!

You'll be able to get hold of an ERay much easier than a Z06 I would think. I think MM list is at 600 vs 2000s for the Z06.
