Wow E-Ray with 655 hp, starting 103k
I guess I didn't expect it to start at 103k. That's close to Z06's 105k starting price. I was also expecting 600 hp. It seems that the LT2 is unchanged. 0-60 in 2.5 sec and quarter in 10.5 sec. Standard carbon brakes too.

I will never buy a new performance car again. Honestly, with age and wisdom, l can't see paying more than 60 grand for any vehicle period. To pay $36,000 more for a hybrid is insanity to me. I am blown away guys pay thousands of dollars for carbon fiber kits. The amount of money spent for the performance gains doesn't make sense to me. Show me anyone making money by running a few seconds lap time by getting these cup 2R tires and l will admit it makes sense. To me, buying all this cr$p to only drive on the street is being a poser just as much as buying a 20 year Honda Civic and mounting a large wing on the back. GM is laughing all the way to the bank with guys that will never see a track and option out a car and pay $30,000 to $70,000 more for it without using it for its intended design purpose. Congratulations to the 1% that actually track their C8.

Price is pretty much what I expected. People thought I was crazy, but I’m not sure why everyone assumed grand sport pricing on a car that just isn’t comparable to a grand sport.

Looks like CCBs are standard, so that's a chunk of $$ right there and also a curious move for a mostly touring car.

Gm
Can GM meet the demand? I skipped out on a base C8 because of difficulty getting a car and holding out for a Z06. Now the e-ray and Z06 are very close in performance and price…still waiting on a list forever for a Z06….just make the damn cars GM…

Makes me wonder if they will limit the Z06 even more, the specs and pricing are so close to Z06. Can't get Z06 carbon aero for months, and this will come out late 23 and get carbon right away probably. Then probably lower the Z06 build. It would have been 96k without carbon brakes standard.

LOL .
Lap times are what measure all-around performance of a sports car/supercar. The eRay is a heavy (heavier) pig and will be obliterated on the track by the Z06.
These aren't drag racers/muscle cars. We don't measure "performance" by straight line performance only.

Eray with a TT or.procharger kit would be nuts

That's exactly why the Volt died. GM admitted it didn't make business sense for these type of hybrids because you essentially have to design, engineer and build and ICE powered vehicle AND an electric vehicle. Double the complexity, double the engineering hurdles and double the price. It's much more efficient to build either an ICE vehicle or an electric rather than both in one.
I guess they thought in a Corvette's price-point it could be a profitable endeavor. But they already know, it's a losing model (the idea of hybrid electric generally, not this car specifically).
