Default Eray

I don’t know why but I feel like I’m one of the small minority of people that’s excited for the Eray. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the new Z06, and plan to get one someday down the road but that will be after the ERAY. The Eray rumor is it will have 600HP and since it’s a hybrid it will still have that roaring V8 in the back perhaps a little quieter. And the Eray will also have the same widebody and wheel tire and package options as the Z06. But understandably so it’s getting less attention, I say all that to ask Am I the only one that is excited and wants to know more information about the Eray? Also the Eray will be the grand sport of this generation so It will come at a lower price tag.

You can see the Erays frunk is a bit longer indicating the motors are most likely in there. While also keeping the functioning frunk

You are not the only one, but the Z06 is sucking all the oxygen out of the Corvette air. I hope the E-Ray (who knows how it will finally be spelled), is announced and available at the 2023 Bash so I can see it in person like they did at this year's Bash. I'm hoping for increased performance over the Stingray with better overall MPGe to go with it.

i agree 100% The better MPG will save me in the long run I still drive an hour to and back from work everyday. I also just love to drive in general I live in California so in the long run I’ll be saving at the pump.

Delay the hybrid.

Focus MY 2023 and MY 2024 exclusively on Stingray/Z06.
MY 2025 slow rollout of hybrid

Chevy might not have a choice in that matter: Fuel Economy standards going up.

And actually your request assumes that the ERay would somehow slow production of the Z06. The Z06 is currently in limited production. None of us know ALL the reasons why. It is very possible that producing the ERay at the same time would have zero effect on the production of the Z06. And to the contrary, it is possible if GM is worried about CAFE, that they are in fact waiting to start production of the ERay before they can fully ramp up production of the Z06. Based on what Reuss said, we should see the "ERay" in 2023.

I would rather see ERay sooner. MY 2024 with summer deliveries. Because we all have preferences based on what our interests are. I want an ERAY.

Arashi - I'm excited about this car too. I think it's going to be a real sleeper and surprise a lot of cars from a performance standpoint. I would have thought we'd see more spy shots of this running on the ring. They are doing a good job keeping this car under the radar. As others have stated, I'm sure it's because of the Z06 launch.

Yep, published this PDF in 2019 when the C8 Hybrid was leaked (http://netwelding.com/C8_FWD_Hybrid.pdf updated April 2022 not much happening, it's stalled.) IMO still believe it was built into the C8 design when it started in 2012/2013 (Tadge said they started the C8 design then but didn't and wouldn't mention the hybrid.) Simple reason, under the Obama admin in 2012 it stated in a press release what was in an 1174 page government report. In 2025 cars and light trucks will be required to achieve more than double the current mpg. Each was defined by model. The Corvette was spelled out it had to achieve ~40 mpg (as would all sports cars.) It wasn’t a gas guzzler tax paid by the buyer it was a prohibitive fine of the manufacturer.

The Press Release and pic below clips from the 1174 page report. It was stopped by a pen in January 2017. We have another pen now and there are new EPA requirements. BUT the zealots in control now insist that only zero CO2 emissions is good enough. STUPID considering the rest of the World but we are on that path!

Hopefully the E-Ray will be a performance Hybrid with small battery mainly to get ~100 more HP on the front wheels. Will have some mpg improvement. BUT full Prius type where the ICE starts after battery brings the car to ~30 mph was planned, IMO. in 2025 that would be needed for all but a few C8s like the Zora to gte the Corvette vaearge mpg to ~40 mpg. GM would still meet their average Vette goal as few Zora's would be sold based on price. Oh, sell too many to meet the government mandate, simple raise the price on whatever!

i think the Eray will be delayed just like how the Z06 was originally supposed to be early 2022. But it got delayed too deep 2022 but i don’t think too many people are on the list for the Eray. I know at my dealership I’m first but the list at many dealerships are small largest I heard was 50 for the Eray.

Ciocca , the biggest Vette dealer is not taking ERay hold-a-spot waiting list orders to my knowledge.

yeah they aren’t yet but a few dealerships I talk to are. At my dealership they technically aren’t either they just put me on the Z06 list but in the notes says “wants Eray when it becomes available” so when the Eray comes out my name will pop up first. Also a dealership in San Diego CA had started the lost but Is charging 50k over

I'm definitely interested in the Eray as well. The noise of gas with the boost of electric, not a bad combination.

You aren’t alone. I’m on the list for a Stingray allocation from Furman that’ll likely come due in Sept/Oct of 2023. I got on Furman’s Eray list in December 2021, no idea how long it would take to get one given that position. That said, I’m just hoping we get an announcement of the ERay ahead of my Stingray allocation. If it’s a great car without a Z06-like price hike, I’ll let my Stingray allocation go unused and await my ERay allocation if Mike has enough data to suggest that it would most likely come up in the first couple of model years.

Seems like a great theory, hope it pans out. Haha

I've talked to two. One who would sell at MSRP but the owner of the small dealership said no way will they get a allocation!

Another a large dealership in NC said they are not taking hold-a-spot orders yet but will keep me in mind.

Have not asked the top salesman where we have bought the wife's 3 BMW X5 SUVs but I know: 1) they will be asking over MSRP and 2) unlikely they will get an allocation. It is a very large Chevy/BWM/Mercedes dealer in town who just bought the Nissan dealership. BUT this is Pick-Up and SUV country NOT Vettes. In fact they always have a $150,000+ BMW in the showroom and have folks coming from NC to buy. We're the medical center for NE SC fom Myrtle Beach to Columbia. Lots of Doctors etc. Doesn't look good driving a Vette as it does a high end BMW!

I started a Poll in a different Forum. I predicted she will be revealed in 2023 and released in 2024 as a MY25. That’s the leading timeframe within that Poll. But now I’m feeling she will be released in 2025 as a MY25. I hope I’m wrong but it’s no big deal, she’ll be released when she’s released. I’ve been on Criswell’s paid list since 2020; I was 38 but one dropped moving me to 37; that was well over a year ago but I suspect no further drops have occurred. Real Corvette enthusiast already know that the E-Ray will be the sweetest thing going; AWD hybrid, she’ll be kickin’ *** and taking names (as we say in the Air Force).

Hit up Joey Ryall, he’s my salesman, he’ll do you right…

Yeah I honestly hope it comes out in 2025 or late 2024 it will be an amazing car. But I also plan on moving soon and doing renovations on my next house 😂 so I can have a nice garage to store her either epoxy marble floors hexagonal lighting all that. Also you might be right on that because the LT7 Engine that’s going into the ZR1 and Zora has been leaked.

You can see the LT7 Beta on the box.

Delaying the release of the Hybrid is not a bad decision at all the way I see it. It will give GM more time to sort out the supply chain issues, inflation/cost and the back log of the C8 and Z06 orders. The best upside is the possible improve battery technology with each passing year.

I don’t see the downside of this Hybrid over the Z06. Better fuel consumption, awd, wide body like the Z06 as far as we know, still have the exhaust note of an V8, should cost marginally less?

Only down side is heavier curb weight.
With front wheel electric drive the lap times might not suffer as much as feared.
Should be faster in the 1/4.
I'd buy one!

I think itll run high 10’s slightly slower than the z06 but definitely faster than the z51 C8 .
But add a trinity or ciccio package already out for lt2 and now your talking high 9’s !
