Default MSRP Guesses

As the months go on and we're "hopefully" get closer to some solid information, what do we think the starting MSRP on the ERay will be?
The consensus seems to be between the stingray and Z06. I know nobody truly knows but are we talking starting LT2 (73-75k) or considerably higher?

Curious to see this myself... Stingray keeps going up in price and starts at $66K now. If the Z06 starts at $92K then what? Can they offer a widebody and hybrid front drive for less than a LT6?

I would have said about $75k a few months ago, but now, $80k.

With the Z06 pricing now out, I'm not too hopeful it will be under 85-90k.

I think this will be the 20-25K over the base car price. Its still packing LT2 supposedly so that would keep costs down, just adding battery and motors up front.

$65,595 is with DFC on the C8 now, I think this car will fall $86-$92K.

yeah, GM screwed all of us. Like MSM pointing out with the E-ray there is not much of a real Development, parts cost. Same engine, most likely use one of their own ev motors from another vehicle, Battery's are the same as other cars, just smaller. Yes, there is more to it then building the Frankenstein vehicle but should have been nothing like the Z06.

But because of this price hike which is more then they hinted at, no doubt it will raise our price. The worst part of this is everything will get worse econ wize.

The Electric assist E-Ray Corvette AWD.....From $144,000.00

Comps....

2022 BOLT. Cheapest electric car: $26,595

2022 Kia EV6, Cheapest AWD Electric....: $52,695

SO where are the other comps for an AWD sportscar? Not many. But if you count plain jane grocery getter cars, the floor is higher than you think. A wife car is going to be $80 grand. This car is a Corvette. While everyone loves to think it will be cheaper than your spouse's car there is no way.

Tesla S. from $104,990
Audi E-Tron S from $85,595
Tesla Y from $60-$80,000. hard to say what these cost and where they are sold.
Ford F-150. between $40,000 to $95,000
Ferrari SF90... its up there
Rivan R1T. start was $67,000, price adjustments now make it $85,000
Lucid Air. $77,000 to $177,000

AND these are Base prices...actual builds out the door are more expensive. After Z06, I think sub 100 is a pipe dream...

I hope it is not @ $144k But I do agree that not many will buy a base model with zero options. I know I can't even on a budget.
A mildly optioned Z06 will add another $10-20 k easily.

I disagree. A better example is the Toyota RAV4. They make a base model an HEV and a PHEV. The price spread is @$14k. The PHEV adds @100hp with a 40 mile electric range. It cuts seconds off the 0-60 time. So the additional hard costs to turn a Stingray into a PHEV should be less than @$5-8k. I suspect part of the Z06 pricing strategy is real concern for production ability. Best way to reduce demand is increase price. I suspect GM actually wants to sell more ERay's than Z06's. I think GM also saw all the chatter about flipping and decided to cut out the middle man and take the extra profit for themselves. The R&D for the Z06 motor has to be amortized over less vehicles. The R&D for the ERay is gong to be spread over a lot of vehicles. The Lyriq is offering an AWD with a 160 hp motor up front. GM could almost just drop that in the C8 with little extra R&D. Plus everything they learn about front electric motors, torque vectoring etc. will have use for years to come. The Z06 will have a limited shelf life. Good news for those buying to keep, they may enjoy having something more exclusive.

What on earth are you talking about? It's not an electric car. None of these cars have anything to do with it except maybe an SF90 but obviously it's not a comparable. Compare to an NSX

Agreed.. now that GM laid the foundation of pain, this is the time for Dodge and others to strike. I think the new mustang will be soon too. Now that Im looking at 100K for a toy who knows.. All it takes is close to performance specs and something that looks cool at a cheaper price. We will see.. I dont see how but do hope GM announces it on 6-8 months.

I’m staying on my list for the E-Ray. But I am so glad I got my 2021 HTC
(Non Z51) just the way I wanted. At MSRP. If the E-Ray doesn’t pan out, I’ll be more than happy.
