Yep, I understood what you said and was very precise with my words. I said if car enthusiasts rejected fake interior engine noise, how do you think fake exterior engine noise will be received? It's even worse and even more sacrilege.

Really cool to see the front wheels kicking up snow! Z06 is the vehicle I want, but this is going to be cool.
My guess is the full BEV Corvette is the C9 generation as there are many things in the C8 chassis simply not needed or optimized for a battery.
To those saying it's too close to the Z06... Z06 is mega delayed and was supposed to be a 2022 MY vehicle, not a "late '23".

Wide body will most likely be used for an ERay as I have not seen one spied shot of an "ERay" in standard body as someone may have suggested?
The modibility of the LT2 is another good options for those that need a little more ponies in the future? Win win..

A. I like GM's approach of electrifying the core sports car - rather than side-dosing people on the side with an electric crossover that could have been called the next Edge. Any way I bet Dearborn is waiting on GM to lead the way again, prove the market and swoop in with a successful EV or partial EV in a long hood short deck body too undercutting this car. But by then the naysayers will be quieted once one of the ERays shows up a Model S plaid
B. They will still be selling the ICE V8 only Corvette.
C. This car really isn't for the traditional Corvette buyer. This is going to be the first Corvette that can drive into London/Paris/Milan/Toronto City centres M-F during business hours. That's who will be buying this car.
List of Super cars that will be seen in these city centres: Ferrari SF90, Ferrari 296GTB, LaFerrari, Acura NSX, and now Chevrolet Corvette ERAY . That ain't a bad list to be on in addition to being the no.1 ICE V8 sports car from America.

EV Official Confirmation by GM this morning
This came out today: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...-ev-confirmed/
The electric Corvette will use GM's Ultium batteries and could be called E-Ray. It will come after a hybrid that's rumored to have 1000 hp.
GM
that a Corvette EV is nigh and that it is coming soon after Chevy launches a hybrid model in 2023.

The electric Corvette will use GM's Ultium battery platform, and we speculated in the past that Chevy's trademark of the name "E-Ray" could be used for some sort of electrified Corvette model. We're guessing that the prototype in this video is the hybrid model, as there's a clear soundtrack of a V-8 gasoline engine playing in the background, but Chevy should release some teasers of the EV model in due time. The camouflaged prototype appears to have the exact same body as the gas-powered Corvette—the main visual difference we can spot is the yellow color of the brake calipers.

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Our 2021 Chevy Corvette Z51 Stretches Its LegsWhen the electric Corvette arrives, it will have to offer impressive performance specs to compete with its internal-combustion siblings. The Corvette Z06, for one, has a 670-hp 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V-8, while the hybrid model is rumored to offer around 1000 horsepower from a twin-turbo version of that engine combined with an electric motor powering the front wheels. In the video, we can see that the front wheels start spinning before the rears, confirming this all-wheel-drive setup; we think that the electric version will offer AWD as well.
We look forward to hearing more about both the hybrid and the electric model within the next few months as Chevy prepares to offer a broader Corvette lineup than ever before.
Well, there you go.

Maybe they will come around to the fake engine noise if that is the only choice we have in years to come? Time will tell.

I agree with you in the short term. Thirty years from now young people are going to be amazed that people had to go to a gas station to put gas in a car. The sound of an ICE will not be an issue except for a small percentage of car lovers willing to pay $20 a gallon if they can find it.

Thanks for the info! I’m number 8 at a small dealership list(msrp) for Z06 and was just informed I’m probably looking at early 2024 model year. The good news is I just started the e-ray list this morning and I’m numero uno! Woot Woot!
