Ken Fichtner,
Is there a link or info on exactly how your allocated car, once built, could be delivered to the East Coast ?

How do we allow the dealer to post this on here? This is why we are in the situation we are in today. Ksciarrino is right, why do we continue to allow this to happen. Best options on constraint but let’s continue to charge over msrp.

The "GM thing" was regarding dealers pulling unethical practices, one of which is telling the customer upfront that they would be purchasing their car at MSRP and then after over a year wait, when the car arrives, the dealer tells the customer...."Oh, by the way, due to market conditions, we are charging $30k over sticker, if you don't want it, you can walk as we have other buyers willing to purchase today at that markup" <<<<< This is what that "GM thing" was about.
Ken is telling you right up front that you can order the car immediately and the current order constraints and it will be built towards the first week of June for the $10k markup, He couldn't be more transparent about his offer. There is no harm in this as nobody's arm is being twisted to order it and nobody waited a year to be told this. If you don't like it, continue to wait at your chosen dealer selling at MSRP just as the offer was never presented.

Not quite sure why we are defending a dealership versus the Corvette community instead. The bottom line is they are marking up this vehicle by 10 K on a custom ordered car. This is insane ridiculous and we can all say whatever we want about the dealer being transparent. Not trying to badmouth anybody or anything, but it is wrong.

I have no dog in this fight. I had a great experience waiting 10 months and paid MSRP through MacMulkin. That said, I really don't have a problem with any dealer that tells you up front what the price will be; my local dealer was $2,500 over MSRP so I went to MM. My local dealer still sold all of their allocations. Laurel Chevrolet is stating up front MSRP + $10,000 and you can have a car delivered within 2 months. Some people will be willing to pay to not wait 10 or 12 months others won't. If you aren't willing to pay the premium then don't shop there. I think that the flippers have really caused this to be an issue.

Greed contributes quite a bit to the rising nationwide inflation. Chevrolet HQ should ban all dealers who mark up these cars. Sales in mass makes more profit in the long run...just ask Mike Furman. He has the common sense and his dealership supports Mike all the way. I would bet Mike Furman has more business than any dealer and I think he is allocated car builds based on his sales record.

Some buyers may not have the additional 12-20 months to wait for their car.
This, and they may be "cash heavy." (This means an extra $25 grand won't mean crap, when they kick the bucket.)
Sometimes, time is worth more than money. Each of us may come to this conclusion, sooner or later.

My journey has just recently begun (order placed earlier this month).
If I were King, I would consider this newly found slot as an opportunity for all of this dealer's customers on his wait list to move up one position in the que.
ie the guy who was number 4 on the list is now number 3.

If anyone deserves the ‘above MRSP bonus’ it is the designers and engineers of the C8, the car sells itself.
My local dealership played games with deposits, waitlists, and over MSRP prices, I just walked away and ordered out of town for MSRP. I don’t see myself ever buying another Chevy or GM besides the C8 (and my C3), so there was no reason to get wound up about it.
