What's the best non-oem performance (run flat) tire for cold weather for ZR1?
GOD willing I am getting really close to joining the C7 ZR1 Brotherhood of the World's fastest and most powerful front engine Vette that will ever be built. That being said I live in IL and like to drive my cars year round when the roads are salt and snow free. So if it's January and the roads are clear and clean but the concrete temp is a very frigid 10 degrees I like to go for an EASY ride to keep the battery charged and its juices flowing. That being said what is the best replacement performance tire that can be driven in freezing temps. that is a RUNFLAT? I know a lot of guys replace the Cup 2 performance tires with the Continental Extreme Contact tire but I see that tire is a not a runflat (I like run flats for that piece of mind when you drive her over into the next state).
In summary, not looking for an all season tire or a snow tire, but instead the stickiest non-oem high performance replacement tire that is a RUN FLAT, and can be driven in frigid temps (if that even exists yet for these bad boy ZR1s). Thanks in advance.

These are the stock sized winter tires for C7 ZR1...but it doesn't state run-flat. If you are just doing the occasional couple of miles to keep her loose during the winter, I don't think run flat is "as high" a priority. YMMV.

This site does state "temporary"...but I still can not verify for this specific size/vehicle.

Then...if it were me, I would try these on another set of rims. Doesn't take long to swap...if you are so inclined.
Just hit 16,000 miles on my car and barely had it a year now. On my second set of Cup 2's. I don't have the "cold" weather you do and "usually" avoid the wet. Good luck and post what you decide.

Thanks for your post my friend but not looking to buy another set of rims Im looking for a tire as described that fits on the stock rim that will replace my Cup 2s once those are worn out. The way I read your post the tire you suggest does not fit on the stock 3ZR rims, am I correct?

Great all season ultra performance RFT but consider it a "very light" snow tire.
I have a set of them on a third set of wheels and I use them if I'm gong on a road trip on which I'll have wet weather.

Agree. These are the only A/S run flat replacements that fit stock rims.

I'm here in Columbus,OH and our weather is similar to yours. Everyone around here swears by the AS/3 plus by Michelin. Like you my new to me ZR1 is being shipped to me next Friday. These tires are hard to find right now (mainly the 335 rear size tires) not sure if it's a shortage due to COVID or not. I've already bought my set, sitting in the basement. First thing I'm going to do is take the cup2 tires off and put the AS3 plus on. I'm going to save the cup 2s for separate set of track wheels later next year. While the AS3s are technically rated as all seasons, I've heard they are best tire you're going to find for sub 50'degree weather and still feel confident when hitting the gas in the ZR1.

Wait for the AS4 -should be avail in our sizes in Spring. Jimmy, I've been running Cup2s up here in cold conditions and no issues as long as you don't go crazy-the same cautions that should be used with any tire on cold roads. Hoping you join the ZR club soon

I love the Cup 2's, but will personally attest they are NOT cool/cold weather friendly. Especially in a vehicle this powerful. I can drive my 2015 Prius better on Defenders when it's cool/cold. Just saying.

Same here. I'm in south central-coast California so, excepte for long road tips, I keep Cup tires on all the time, however, there's days in the Winter where it might be 40° in the morning. Those tires are freakin' treacherous when it's that cold.

I would not want to wreck such an insane car. When I first got the car of course it turned freezing cold BUT had to drive it. Frequently have it out in Michigan temps in the 30s. Most likely will replace tires with AS4s as soon as they are avail and save the Cups for Florida

Yep, you got it Johnny, if I intend to drive the MONSTER on cold winter dry days with no snow and minimal snow on the ground this is the only way to go for me b/c wit the slicks this Beast comes with from the factory they cannot be driven safely in COLD weather!
