Default Back in the mix again....

Hey everyone, pretty new over here in this corner of the forum. Was active for years in the road race section and then took a sabbatical for various reasons. Never stopped racing and had fantastic results as well as teething pains that go along developing a car to meet rules changes, but just never put things out about it. Now I am back on multiple levels. Had a C6Z as a weekend driver for a few years and then went off the rails with a 2016 Nissan GTR for 3 1/2 years. Fun awesome and perfect car, literally no complaints about it but just never connected with it. When I learned the C7ZR1 would be 1 year and last front engine model I made the decision to pull the trigger. I am a purist, what can I say! Not interested in the C8, awesome car just not interested. Rhonda ( wife/crew chief ) and I had always wanted to do a NCM delivery on a brand new car, so we did. In May we took delivery of #2304. Black on black, ZTK, M7, Comp seats with microfiber, Red seatbelts red stitching red calipers. It will likely be the last purchase like this as in a few years I transition to an early retirement, one of the few perks of the job is the ability to retire at age 50. Because of that we have paved the road for it to happen in the just under 4 years until I hit that big half century. Will likely use the ZR1 as a weekend fun driver and track days when I instruct because the T1 car doesn't have a 2nd seat. Hope to get to know some of you guys over here!

Also signed up for the ZR1 course at Spring Mountain Jan 28-29. I realize it is geared toward beginners and they won't likely let me stretch my legs in their cars but hey its free! And its time away from work and the DC area!! Hope to see someone there! It will be pretty cool seeing Victor again, I worked with him back in 2004 when it was still Bragg Smith!

Cheers,
Joe

Congrats ! Where do you plan to track it? I’m down in the Northern Neck area of Virginia near the Chesapeake Bay and had thought about VIR if I track mine at some point. Spring Mountain made me think I should get the car on a track to really enjoy it.

I will go where I can whenever I can! With my work schedule and race schedule it is hard for me to get in much instructing but as I wind down my current situation I am really trying to do more as I have a goal for a little bit of "contracting out" after retirement. My home tracks are Summit Point and VIR essentially but we have raced most of the major Northeast and southeast tracks as well as a sprinkling of others around the country.

I'm sure they'll be happy to see you, those guys love going fast and they'll gladly let you go as fast as you like when you're the lead car.

Have you been to Dominion Raceway? If so what is your opinion of it?
