Manual ZR1 Stage 3X Katech Build
My 900 mile "Manual" ZR1 was delivered on (12-23-19) and were hoping for 800-850ish whp on 93.
I will keep you all posted as the build progresses and follow along as we take it to the drag strip to see what a "manual" ZR1 can do with some mods.

Yes, this is very shocking to everyone and there are more questions than answers. I believe more will come in the coming days. I appreciate all the positive words that everyone has given me so far. This may be the beginning of an exciting new chapter as I have already realized how many opportunities could be out there. The dust has to settle first though. If anyone would like to contact me, they can reach me at jason@hardingmotorsportsllc.com.

Yeah I'm pretty excited and I'm starting to get pissed Jason is not sending me any progress info or photos .

Package includes:
-Baseline chassis dyno
-GM Performance Parts air intake system
-katech Air intake system upgrades for 112mm throttle body
-Katech CNC ported supercharger
-Katech 112mm throttle body and adapter
-Katech camshaft and valvetrain
-Katech C5-R timing chain
-Katech CNC ported heads, CNC ported chambers, competition valve job, hand blending
-Griptec supercharger pulley and hub
-Kooks 2” headers
-Kooks Off-road x-pipe
-Katech spark plug wire boots
-Katech 160F thermostat
-Brisk spark plugs
-PCM licensing and unlocking
-Serialized plaque
-Installation
-Chassis dyno sheet comparing baseline to finished product
Added Items so far: ATI Damper & Pulley, Camshaft Validation (I requested an upgraded camshaft that must be validated)

Oh well maybe except for the Supra video!!
Come on man, seriously......The Supra sounds better than a GrandSport?

The Supra in that test only won because it revved higher in neutral/park. If the Vette could have revved higher it wouldn't even have been a contest.

Every camshaft we sell gets validated on our Spintron valvetrain dynamics test cell. This ensures that the valvetrain is stable and durable. The Spintron is basically a 150hp electric motor that drives a "buck" - a block with a hole cut in the side, dummy crank, no pistons or connecting rods, just valvetrain. We point a laser at the valves and plot their movement out on a computer. We look at the valve movement a various rpm to determine if the valves are bouncing upon closing, or the lifter is lofting over the nose of the cam. We can also run 24 hour Le Mans durability simulations.

>>>Today Katech laid off both myself (the Director of Aftermarket Operations) and Kevin Pranger, Director of Motorsports. Together Kevin and I had a combined 50 years of experience at Katech. Kevin managed the legendary Corvette C5-R and C6.R engine programs since inception. Kevin and I, along with former president Caleb Newman launched the Katech Performance division to what it is today which is now over 50% of the company. We are both stunned by the news and there is a lot more to this story that will play out in the coming days. We are not exactly sure what is happening, but major changes seem to be right around the corner. Katech cannot begin to fathom what they lost today.
Kevin is incredibly talented and a wealth of knowledge. I'm sure he'll get swooped up quickly.
While it is a major page turn and a sad end to a chapter, there is a portion of me that is relieved and excited to pursue my interests independently with Harding Motorsports as well as at M1 Concourse. I'm also incredibly thankful to have my supportive wife, Concetta, by my side and encouraging my business endeavors.>>>>

I have a phone meeting scheduled next week with Katech to discuss my build since I am now extremely concerned. The president assures me that there is no change with the engineers or techs who will be working on my car.

Yes this is very sad news. I assume that since my car is sitting in their shop I got an e-mail from the president (or new president...I'm not sure) yesterday that Jason and Kevin would no longer be ith the company and that the company has some restructuring changes going on. Well to be perfectly honest, the main reason I chose Katech over the other great shops who I seems to have more experience with the ZR1. But I chose Katech because I have followed Jason for so many years, I trust him, I trust he would oversee my build, I trust he would stand behind his word and make sure I was fully satisfied.
I have tried to reach out to Jason through e-mail because I don't have his personal cell number but have not been able to reach him. If anyone knows him and speaks to him please have him call me or message me or please PM me a way I can reach him.
I have a phone meeting scheduled next week with Katech to discuss my build since I am now extremely concerned and not even sure I want them to work on my car without Jason being there and during a time the company decides to reorganize and or make changes . The president assures me that there is no change with the engineers or techs who will be working on my car, but my concern is just how focused will these guys be when the company is making changes, going through this transition and have just lost 2 of the main faces of the company?
My car has been at Katech since 12-23-19 an nothing has been done to my car except for the baseline dyno pull last week.
If Joe or NicD @Cordes or Steven@LMR would be willing to get my car picked up and shipped to their shop, please reach out to me. I may be very interested in having them rather do this build. I will know for sure after my conference call next week.
If any of you guys have first hand experience with Katech, (can they still do quality work without Jason & Kevin) or my other top picks were LMR or Cordes, offer up any tips, advice or suggestions please.
Please no advice from folks who have no personal experience with these shops.
Thank you in advance.

Sorry to hear about this. I met Jason a few months ago when I dropped off my C6Z for their Stage 2 pkg. I had been corresponding with him by phone and email prior to choosing Katech. I may go elsewhere with future mods.
