The ZR1 is a flop

I think the OP was trying to make a comparison between the price of what you get for the car to what is already available and that delta.
Obviously the ZR1 is an amazing machine. People attracted to the ZR1 revel in performance and desire the best Chevy can offer and they do a fantastic job.
Being able to compete at the level of 300K and above cars with those performance specifications is just amazing.

Motortrend best drivers car - the Zr1 finishes second to last place. it's only .6 seconds faster than the z06 around laguna seca. Every drag race video I've seen of it competing against it's peers it loses.
So is Chevy over playing their hand? Should we really expect a car made by the same people who make the equinox to compete at such a high level?
maybe chevy should go back to doing what they do best - good fun cars at decent prices.

I love the ZR1's looks and capabilities. However, It is hard to ignore that dealers advertise new 2019 Z06s (with 650hp) for $72,665! I wouldn't call the ZR1 a flop, though. The ZR1 will sell at market price, period.

The cars are very much equal drivers on the street when the Z06 horsepower is increased the Z06 is even some what lighter weight with more rear bias,. 6600.00 in parts DIY get a tune and you out run a stock ZR1 the right way with a larger charger. Plus a kick back for the take off!
The main issue is the front bill. Everywhere you go you find an unexpected dip I just bought spoiler number 5 for my Z06's this is the 100.00 poverty spoiler so I would have trashed a front or 2 on a ZR 1 for sure! Just not practical too big and too low!

Just going over my order now for a 2019 @ 12 percent off to replace my 2015 reordering the same car love the package! The ZR1 is great car it is a Z06 with converted front larger blower and a wing. If I was a track person. I would consider it!

The spoiler on my 19 ZR1 has more clearance than my C6 ZR1 did so it's not really a big issue.

It’s a non issue on my ZR1 as well. You have to be VERY careless or encounter a seriously steep driveway to scrape it. Plus front cameras prevent hitting curbs, etc. That is also assuming you don’t lower the front to track ride height which is not recommended for street use.
