Anyone have a raceseng front row hook?
Would really appreciate a close up picture of it installed so I can verify fitment of mine.
I’ve read about gm being kind of sloppy with the angle of the threaded hole in comparison to the grill. With the hook installed it’s pressing up on one of the grill slats enough to bend it slightly. Obviously I can’t do anything about the angle so if this is unique to my car I may just have to take it off but don’t want to do that until I know it’s not standard for front hooks

Melting Slicks
I installed one last year on the front of my 19Z. Same issue you described. It's against the grill. Not a deal breaker for me but a poor design for sure. I love the look.

ok thanks. I won’t worry about it and hope that it doesn’t cause the grill to crack. It’s a really nice tow hook!

Same thing here with a different front hook. After a few years a bit of my grill cracked so its no longer bending but the crack very hard to tell unless you look for it or push around on the grill near the hook.
Thanks GM

Hard to believe the angle of the threaded bung and the grill could ever make it out of the design phase at gm.

The more I look at it the more I’m tempted to cut the piece that its touching. I’m sure no one else notices except for me but when you get up close it looks pretty shitty for a car of this caliber to have a part of the grill bent. I keep going in the garage staring at it lol.

I haven't experienced this in either of my Vette's. Now the rear comes out at a terrible angle and looks like crap. I don't keep those in for DD.

I’ll try to grab a photo this afternoon. It was quite alarming when I first realized what it looked like. I wasn’t sure if I had managed to thread the hook into the completely wrong threaded location lol

My tow hook is in the frunk along with a rear bumper panel remover so it's ready to install if I need it. I don't like the concept of having a tow hook permanently installed. It's too enticing to thieves who may happen to be cruising around in a tow truck or heavy duty truck with a tow hook (yes, such a criminal exist). It says please take my C8.

Burning Brakes
I had the same problem when i mounted the Z06 grill to my Z51. Thought it was just because I changed grills on the Z51.
Anyway, I just went ahead and cut out the small grill piece and in 5 years have never given it another thought except when mounting the tow hooks for track days. So much easier.
here is a pic. If you were to take two steps back I doubt you would notice it at all.

another thought I had is maybe the grill isn’t installed right from gm and I never noticed it all these years?
