Default Bonestock M7 Convertible 10.883 @ 127.49

Finally attained my goal by running quicker than my bolt-on C5Z which had ran a 10.890 oh so many years ago.
Car has absolutely no mods whatsoever.
Pass was made at MIR on Monday at my annual rental.
Weather was excellent in the morning and was very good in the afternoon.
Beautiful day overall with temps in the upper 40s to upper 50s and a falling barometer 30.40 down to 30.19.
The DA was approximately - 500 at the time of the pass.
Raceweight was approximately 3850 lbs.
Car has Stage 3 aero; however, the center wickerbill was detached and put away in the trunk. (Let's call it 2.75 aero. )
Track prep was excellent.
Best part was spending time with my friends and watching their successes.

Awesome time for a stock M7. What was your launch technique?

4000 rpm and rolling into the throttle as I slipped the clutch.

Sounds like you did not use launch control, correct?

Wow, that is fantastic! Did you end up in 3rd gear on the rev limiter, or did you get 4th gear?

Correct.
Only use launch control if you want to accelerate slower.

There is a little more in it but may look into other options.

I'm 6'-2" and have to slouch when wearing my helmet which makes shifting a little awkward.

My vert always got better gas mileage with the top UP. Figured it meant better aerodynamics. Maybe you have the same situation.

Agree that the aero is better with the top up.
In addition, sanctioned tracks won't allow top down unless you have arm restraints which prevent movement beyond the car's interior.

From my drag racing days, don.t you need a roll bar for those ETs? Crazy fast for a stock vet, amazing driving.

Not sure on a convertible but a hard top can now run down to 9.0 et without a roll cage. Our NHRA track here also requires a fire suit to be worn.
That rule change is for newer cars as my 2000 Silverado is not covered. It may be from around 2015 and up but I am not sure the exact year.

When I was a kid, 10sec cars were gutted shells with monster drivetrains being trailered to the track. Now minivans have 300hp. lol

Never had an issue with the car whether it was a rental or a regular competition race day.
And thank you for the compliment.

I agree.
That's what I remember also.
There are minivan equivalent EVs that run low 11s.
Not my cup of tea, but to each their own.

Thank you.
I agree with the color combo.
This is certainly the prettiest Z I've ever owned.
The yellow calipers seem to make everything else pop.
I was very fortunate to find it in Indy.
The guy who ordered it was unable to take possession, so I was the benefactor.
