Default Changed Brakes / Wheels - Rhythmic Chirp - Front Driver Side

Hey All -

Quick question: Wondering if some of you have experienced this and identified a resolution. In the past couple of weeks I’ve changed the brakes and wheels on my c7 z06 (steel brake setup). Now when I drive the car, the front left tire makes a rhythmic chirp that speeds up with the car’s speed. If I put slight pressure on the brakes, the sound will largely stop and as soon as I left of the brake, the sound returns. I put power stop pads on the car.

I’ve checked the lug nuts, they are tight.

I’ve checked the squealers on the brakes, none of them are touching.

I can’t see any wear marks on the rotor itself

I’ve checked the wheels and there doesn’t seem to be anything hitting the rim.

My next steps are going to be to pull the brakes off and “redo” the brake job… maybe something is loose.

Have you all ever experienced anything like this before? The car runs fine but that sound is quite annoying and I don’t want to cause long term damage.

Thanks!

This time be sure to check the run out on the rotors. Dirt, burr, or metal chip between the hub and rotor can cause runout, which will cause your chirping.

Pad not installed flat/straight?
I assume you're not getting any vibrations in the wheel while driving or when braking?
