has this oil ever been tested for road use on a
C7 Z06?

where is it better to use that of Mobil 1

thanks in advance

ExxonMobil very likely makes this for GM. GM does not manufacture their own motor oil. Just like Sears.

yes. It has the dexos2 certification label on it which is what GM specifies.

As long as it has the Dexos1 or Dexos2 certification label and is the correct weight it is fine. A Dexos1 oil at the correct weight works since the C7s initially required Dexos1. The 2019s required Dexos2 ESP 0W40 but could still use Dexos1 5W30 for street usage. For track usage, Dexos2 ESP 0W40 could be used as well as M1 15W50 although M1 15W50 couldn't be used on the street.

There are many manufactures of oil, domestic and foreign, that make Dexos certified products. GM branded oil could be made by a manufacturer that most people haven't heard of. One of my clients sells bulk oil to car dealerships that is manufactured by a relatively unknown company.
