Default Need One New Tire!!

Here's my problem. I have one bad passenger rear tire on my 2016 Z06, and, of course, Michelin no longer makes the Pilot Sport A/S 3! I put 4 new tires on this car less than 4k miles ago so do not want to have to buy all new ones!!

Question is...can I replace the one tire with a Pilot Sport A/S 4 without any issues?? I have looked everywhere for one A/S 3 but they're not out there, and I can't get a solid answer about putting on the one A/S 4.

What do you guys think?? Thanks!

Elaine

While you could get away with it on the front, probably, I would not mix tires on the rear, as it may cause issues with the electronic differential. You may be able to find a used tire on craigslist...?

I don't think you would have any issues or problems just replacing the one tire, I would go with the A/S 4 like you said, should be close enough to the A/S 3 that it won't make any difference as long as they are the same size.

If the tread depth on the other rear tire is still really good I would match an as4 with it. The treads aren't very different.

I understand the delima, but I'd be tempted to buy two new rears. You might be able to find someone that wants that AS3. One piece of advice that I received early and often is don't mix tires on one end of the car.

Watch for some used ones for sale here, or ebay as in above post. Just watch the date codes. Nothing older than 2019?

Thanks, everyone! I spent all day and all evening talking to and looking into every avenue for a tire replacement. Nothing on an A/S 3. After talking to some very knowledgeable tire distributors, I decided to get one A/S 4. It is being installed this week. Hope it will work out. If not, then maybe I'll have to change the good one that is on there now for another 4. We'll see!

Thanks again.

It is advertised as off road or show use only and has flaws. That won't work for me, but I do appreciate that information.
