Have any of you taken their Z on a trip. Planning on taking my newly acquired Z from Missouri down to TN, Nashville, Knoxville, and maybe into the smokies next week. It’s a Z07 also but around here hasn’t seemed to bother us.

My wife and I logged about 3K miles in ten days on our Z a couple of weeks ago, when we road-tripped the west half of Route 66. No Z07 package, but we do have Competition Seats. The ONLY issue we encountered was the front splitter's low clearance. Even found some opportunities to satisfy the need for speed...

I have done three 2,500+ mile trips in my 2016 Z06. One with my wife even, but she doesn't want to do any more ( she really doesn't like driving trip in any car). It is a great touring car with plenty of space in the cabin and hatch area and easy access from the front seats. The car now has about 25,000 miles on it. From what I understand form the C8 forums the C7 is a bit better that the C8 for long trips, but that of course doesn't stop folks from buying C8s. I was going to take it on a 900 mile round trip this Spring to a C4 ZR-1 gathering in Bowling Green but the dates of the event conflicted with my schedule.Plan to go next year. --Bob

My dad drove mine from the east side of South Dakota to me in north Alabama. The following spring I drove it out to Fort Worth and then up to into Oklahoma and back to Alabama. The car is great for road trips!

I think I rather take the pickup truck for a long ride. Although I enjoy riding and driving the Z; it's pretty small for long drives and to be honest isn't the best riding car. But it is the most fun to drive in my fleet.
The cup holders is lacking too. If we both get a beverage the tops of the cup hits and then it's hard to shift gears. M7.

I wish. Most I've done is 500 miles or so. My car uses meth for it's fueling when in boost, and god knows how heavy my foot is. Wouldn't know how much meth too bring, nor would I want to carry a lot on me for long distances.

I drove my Z from St. Louis to Orlando then up to Savannah and then back home. It was a great trip and you should enjoy it. I had a friend hit an expansion joint in the left hand lane that was a bit high west bound on I-40 between Nashville and Clarksville and he ended up breaking a wheel, so be careful. I checked my mileage one time just for the hell of it and I got 24.9 with the cruise set at 79. I was quite impressed.

One trip from the Dallas area to Mount Vernon, including Tail of the Dragon, Biltmore Estate, Monticello, Norfolk, etc. - about 3,200 miles
Dallas to Grand Teton, NP, Yellowstone NP, Coeur d’Alene, ID, Glacier NP, Black Hills, etc. - about 5,500 miles total.
Also a Z07 car. Happy that we got the suspension software upgrade done. Headed for Sedona this fall. This one should be about 3,800 including tourist miles.

I have owned Vettes for most of the last 40 years and now that I am older and have more time my wife and I have taken multiple 1000 mile trips. This last summer we went with 3 other Vette's from central Va. to South Dakota for the Black Hills Corvette Rally. We logged 13 states and 4600 miles in two weeks. We saw some beautiful country and had a wonderful time. The C7 and the other Vettes all did great with no issues. In my opinion these cars are great to travel in although 6 to 8 hours is plenty, I would not want to do 9 or 10 by choice.

Several 5 to 15 day trips pre Covid in both a '15 coupe and '18 vert. Had a great time with the wife. Never had any issues. Great gas mileage I would drive the vette over a pickup truck on a trip every time especially with these crazy prices. And no room for momma to buy stuff she doesn't need. Now that you've planting the idea in my mind I'm going to start planning one.

As soon as I bought it. Atlantic City, NJ to Niceville, FL. Been to the Carolinas a few times and to south FL several times. Also a couple of trips to Bowling Green. Very enjoyable cross country road trip car. I have traveled distances in all of my Corvettes. The longest trips were Las Vegas, NV to Sumter, SC in 1986 and Sumter, SC to Phoenix, AZ in 1990 both in my 82 CE, and Phoenix, AZ to Fairbanks, Alaska in my 89 convertible in 1998.

The only tip I have to add is refill whenever you see a clean, good gas station, even if your not empty.. you don't want to get stuck needing gas and having to go to a sketchy gas station or a sketchy area...
