The C8 Z06 looks to be a fantastic car, I absolutely love the looks and the sound of the flat plain crank engine, with that said my C7 Z06 is 100% paid for , so I’ll stick with it. Unless I win the lottery

The rear end design, especially the round exhaust tips, are a huge improvement over the Stingray. Those square pipes are just hard to look at.
The exhaust note of the C8Z is disappointing. Granted, listening on YouTube is not always the most accurate way to tell, but man, it sounds like the blender I use to make my protein shakes.
The C7Z checks all the boxes for me. Looks, sound, handling, and forced induction creating insane low-end torque. I wish they had smoothed out some of the sharp angles for the C8Z, but it still looks like they had different design teams for the different parts of the car, and then they just jammed everything together. A sports car should be art on wheels, and while abstract is a form of art, it's not one I like.

OP, I’m kinda thinking like you.
Keep the C7Z manual (a ‘17 with 20k mi) and add a C8Z opportunistically later.
Instead of a C8Z, I’m just as likely to go back to a ‘06 or later Gallardo or R8 4.2 with a manual gated shifter.

Back when I was getting a C6, the C7 Z06 was announced. This is what I was greeted with back in 2013 and 2014 when I started looking at vettes. This thread is hillarious with history in context.

Not hating the C8 Z, just adding a bit of internet humor. The C8Z actually looks much better than I expected. Still not my cup of tea, so my C7Z isn’t going anywhere, ever. But compared to the ugly looking base c8 (yes, subjective, but I think it’s ugly) the c8Z definitely looks much better and far more interesting from all angles.

Anyone interested in betting how many who voted they will keep their C7Z will eventually switch over anyway?
Most of them did the same thing when the C7Z came out saying it copied the aventador, doesn’t look like a “Real” corvette (whatever that is supposed to mean in a geriatric, senile mind).

[QUOTE=Kouasupra;1604219700]Now that the C8 Z06 has been reveal, who’s planning on selling or keeping their C7 Z06 and adding a C8 Z06?
I’ll be keeping mine and adding the C8 Z06 to my garage when the price drops within my budget within a fe
Me. # 39 @ Les Stanford. Anyone interested in a 2015 standard z07 vert mint?

20hp more, 200 ft lbs less, ugly *** styling, guessing a minimum 125K price tag, no manual transmission, a bland exhaust note, meh, they can keep it.
The only thing I liked out of the whole launch...the carbon fiber wheels. Those look pure sexy but two things on those. 1) I'm guessing a 10K option and 2) C7 owners think we had cracked rim issues......I feel sorry for whomever options the CF wheels.

I will get rid of my C7Z for the C8Z. C7Z is an amazing car but looking forward to getting the C8Z at some point. Probably be 10 years before they get my allocation in at the dealership and I am #14 on their list.

While I am keeping my C7Z, I find the LT6 really enticing for its power. I had a 98 camaro with 460ft/lb and 515hp at wheels and it's torque was near perfect to me where you had a lot of pull available on street but well within grip levels for tires. I had it better geared than my Z06 so I was shifting through the gears quicker. What I've noticed with the LT4 torque is excessive, you are not in a lot of positions to just hammer it down and go for the ride, it has to be planned a bit in advance or you hit traction issues. This is where I think the C8Z will shine where you have a long flat torque curve of really usable torque where you rarely exceed available traction and the final gearing is short enough that it'll climb the revs faster than the LT4 to redline.
