Default Can't find tires

So I knew last year that I would need new tires on my Z06 but didnt think it would be a problem as I had put a deposit down on a C8. Well with the strike and COVID slowing things way down I'm now on track to get my C8 in June 2021. So here I am now needing tires for my Z06. I'm in the wear bars but only just into them. I've seen it mentioned over the last month that tires have been difficult to find so I finally had a chance to hit up discount tire today and was told there weren't any nationwide and I was likely looking at 3 months or longer. They already had another Z06 owner who was in 2 weeks ago for the same issue and he would be ahead of me on a "list" for tires if they can source them. I tried a couple other places and was basically told the same thing. I did ask discount tire about some alternative sizes and brands I've seen mentioned on the board but there are no 325 or 335 in 20 inch anywhere. Was told 20 inch and 300+ wide tires are near impossible right now.

So what do I do? I mean 8 months is a long way to go as this is my daily driver. And that's assuming there are no more delays in C8 production. I really don't want to dump 2k on tires 3 months from now only to turn around a few months after that and trade it in. I dont want to park it either for 8 months and barely drive it as that's a waste of money. I don't know. Just never figured something like tires would be impossible to find. I figured they would need to be ordered and I'd wait a couple weeks but to day maybe 3 months, maybe longer depending on supply. I mean what if I got a flat or something where the tired couldn't be fixed? Any ideas or suggestions would be great. Thanks

I had a real tough time locating the OEM Michelins Pilot Super Sports (got 15k out of them) and ended up going with Bridgestone Potenza S007 RFT on my Z a few months ago. Same specs with a slightly higher treadwear rating (280 vs 340). I can tell no difference between the two with my style of driving which is mostly city with some highway. No regrets, love them. Hopefully they hold up as my Z ain't no garage queen - she gets driven almost daily. Good luck.

I was in the same situation although not trading vehicles, needed a set of tires on my 15 Z06 and wanted Michelin run flats, but none were available and would not be for a while and was not willing to wait for them. Bought a set of Continental ExtremeContact tires for $1340, they were the only thing available. In the last 3 weeks since buying them, I am well pleased with them, they have a better ride than the run flats did, are much quieter and I have no more wheel chatter while turning at low speeds. Kind of miss the idea of having run flats but think for overall street driving, Continentals are just as good or maybe better than the Michelin's I've had on my last two cars. Will see how long they hold up.

For the cont. Ex.sports and the potenza tires, how is traction? I like to drive spiritedly and the stock tires still left a lot to be desired in 1st and 2nd. How do the other 2 tires hold up on acceleration in comparison?

Continentals on my car fell like they have more traction that the Michelin's that were on it, have had no problem.

So went back to discount tire to talk again. The potenza s007A rears are hard to fund as well but they also dont seem to come in front size at all. Which means if I found the rears I would have to go to a mixed set where I put potenza pole position on the front which are sticker tires than the S007A. So would that pose a problem??

Asked about the cont. Ex sport but they also seem back ordered. Basically anything for the rear seems to be impossible. Front tires are easy. They said they would call around some places on Monday and get back to me but right now seems like a lost cause to get any rear tires

Has anyone done Michelin Pilot 4S in 295/30/19 F & 325/25/20 R? They are .2” taller on the front and .2” shorter than stock on the rear but that’s small enough you’ll never know. Widths are close to stock, and fit our 19x10 & 20x12.
I also know forum member CVP has run that size in MPSS.

I have the Continental’s on mine and I think the Michelin’s have better traction once the tires are warmed up.

I finally found CUP 2 tires, but had to go with the Michelin Track Connect version. A bit more $, but they were the only ones out there. Maybe ask for them if you want Michelins. Of course, they are not not good at all in the cold.

Nope and around 45-50 you can get micro cracks in them definitely Warm only.. but pre magic when hot out, pure evil in the cold

I live in California. I also need tires for my 2016 ZO6. I have always gone with the Michelin Brand tires in the past however everywhere i checked they are out of stock or at least the back tires are and they can not tell me when or if they will become available. I also drive this car on a daily basis. I have been a foot for a month now. My z06 is in excellent condition. I have 50000 miles and they offered me 40000 over the phone. I paid 106,000

I needed new front tires. I called the local Michelin dealer and they got the tires the next day. My rear tires were changed last year and I got two day service.

After having the tires replaced, the Michelin dealer said not to use Chevrolet recommendations as the tires will wear too soon. Chevy recommends 30PSI, he said, because the car will ride more smoothly. He said 38 in the rear and 35 in the front to get the best wear. Anybody get that information as well? John

I went thru the same thing the tires I wanted for my 4runner. The tire place I deal with there going thru the same thing not able to get a lot of different tires because of the COVID. A lot of these manufacturers are running with short crews or stopped production not as much. It’s going to take awhile before you start seeing certain tires.

The 19 inch tires for the front have been easy to find from any manufacturer, it is the 20 inch rear tires that have not been available for some time. I wanted to buy Michelin run flats for my vehicle, fronts were available but not rears. Feel lucky at this time because I HAD to have a full set of tires to find the Continental ExtremeContact tires because it seems now they are not available.
