Possibly selling Z06 for ZL1 - thoughts
I have a 2016 Z06 M7 in near perfect condition with 8,500 miles. I really don't drive it much to be honest with you and the main reason why is im tired of shifting. I have my eyes set on a 2019 Camaro ZL1 A10. What are your thoughts to go from a Z06 to a ZL1. I am not interested in a Z06 with the A8. Also Chevy has some good deals with employee type pricing for all now. How do you think I would do on a trade in? I feel as though its an even swap but who knows.
Thank You

I had an 18 ZL1 A10. Great car.
I have a 19 Z06 M7 now. WAY better car.
Camaro is not a Corvette... Ive owned a few Camaro's and I always come back to the Corvette. I wont make that mistake again.
I never had a problem with the visibility like a lot of people with no seat time in the car claim is a problem. The best part of the ZL1 was the A10... oh and the seats...
You will get raped on the trade most likely. Im guessing the ZL1 would be ~60 or 61 depending on options. Most MSRP's are in the high 60's for non-1LE cars. I think mine was 69k and some change and I paid 61k during a GMS pricing promotion(GMS is real employee pricing, not the BS that gets advertised, but it usually a few % above GMS). The 2000+ dollar gas guzzler tax sucks...on top of the cost of the trans.
Not sure what trim your Z06 is, but low 50's on a trade offer wouldnt shock me for a 16.
If I wanted an auto I would hold out for a C8 personally. Or get the Camaro in the mean time, but you will come back to a Vette is my prediction.

The ZL1 is a very nice car, and if you're wanting an auto is definately the way to go. Same engine as the Z06 and the ZL1 just looks menacing. DO NOT let anyone convince you to get an A8 Z06. I had an A8 model before my M7Z I have now and it was pure garbage. Though there is no way it's going to be an even swap for your car. It's going to be your car value plus $10K easy.

You'll get more money selling privately, dont trade in to a stealership.
the a10 in the zl1 shifts faster than the a8. If only gm worked its magic and somehow got the a10 to fit both z06 and zr1 would be even faster. Shame they couldnt make it work.
the cts-v beats the above LT4 cars in terms of comfort

I've never owned a ZL1 but i wouldn't picture it as any more comfortable than the Z..

Oh, my mistake. I thought it did. My friend that has the ZL1 loves his trans. I can't say one way or the other as I've never driven an A8. My thoughts on his A10 were "eh. it's an auto". I so rarely drive an auto I can't really tell the difference so I can't really offer much input into it, but again, he is like a kid in a candy store with it.

The CTS-V has the A8... thats a killer in my book.
The ZL1 Recaro's blow away the C7 seats, not even close.
If you thought the A10 was "eh, its an auto" you didnt get to drive it hard. If the A10 was available in the later C7Z I would have bought one. I bought the ZL1 because it had that trans, but overall the rest of the car wasnt up to par with the trans and I went back to a Vette and dont regret it.
Now for the OP in Lauderdale, the ZL1 would probably fit the bill as there arent a ton of curvy roads to go drive on. The ZL1 showed its weight in the corners thats for sure. BUT dont expect the ZL1 to stand out in South Florida either compared to the Vette. It will blend in and get lost.

Been thinking about trading my 16 z06 3lz auto in on a convertible zl1-my thoughts are with discounts you should be near zero if not walk and let them call you back. Of course not that its that big but a trunk would be nice pm me what you find.
Thanks

Camaro zl1 any flavor seats aren’t NOT better than C7 competition seats. I’ve sat in both and own a C7 with them. They are quite nice though.

Advanced
Owned both at the same time with my 2018 zl1 being my daily. The zl1 to me was definitely better for daily driving it had more room inside especially leg room and the vented seats were definitely alot better. Also the A10 was great.

I currently own a supercharged A8 GS and a 2018 stock ZL1. Here are some quick facts
-The A8 in the C7 is junk compared to the A10 in the ZL1
-Recaros in the ZL1 are not for everyone. Better sit & decide yourself
-ZL1 is heavier and it is apparent in every turn
-ZL1 has less road noise
-ZL1 stock exhaust note is better

GM done bent you over once on your Z06 with the C8. The "best" they now say about the Camaro is it is "safe" until the 2023 model year. Three years from now? Remember the 2019 vettes went on sale January 2018, almost a full year before the calendar year. Aging your 2015 a year ahead of time. What if the 2023 Camaro goes on sale January 2022? you need another haircut from this car company in two years time?

and what did they say about the C8 in this article?
Spending north of $50k i wouldn't want to be in any car the rags call "Camaro cheap"

Although it's less expensive than most of its direct rivals, it's not Camaro cheap.
