Default Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP (285/35ZR19)

Looking at installing the Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on my ZO6–anybody have feed back on these tires?
Also, I would like to run a 285/35 instead of 285/30, seems to be about 1” larger diameter to fill the gap—car is stock ride height.
Will I have rubbing issues?

They are an excellent tire with numerous reviews on this forum. Do a search on this forum and you will find lots of information. I have them on my other sports cars and plan to install them on the Z in the spring. If you track your Z they will not hold as well as the OEM tires, but the will do fine for lite track duty.

I personally prefer the Cup 2's, but the previous ones I had were air tires, which is no longer an option in our sizes (hatin it!), but by all accounts the AS3+ are fine tires. I would recommend against the 35's just because you will get more sidewall flex, the Z06's can be lowered approx. 3/4 inch at all 4 corners just by turning the stock lowering bolts down and realigning...my 2 cents anywho.

Yes they will rub. The stock size is very close to the limit in diameter.

Lots of us have driven on them, unless you're tracking the car, they are better or match the cup2s and super sports in just about everything. Including traction in warm weather on the street.

1)Cup2s are only for those that will be using it on the track and street combined. Anyone that uses cup2s for street driving only is just literally throwing away money as there is zero positives over SS and AS3+.

Super sports are for those that either live in Miami where temp doesn't go below 45 or they have 1 or 2 mild track days a season. They can handle track abuse. Honestly I'd buy supersports over cup2s even if I were tracking on them. The cup2s break apart and don't last. Not worth the extra 1 sec faster lap time.

I only buy super sports for my Z because I can find slightly used ones locally for dirt cheap. Otherwise I would have kept the AS3+ that came on it (used). I have separate track wheels.

After all of the research that I could stomach, I decided to get the A/S 3+ tires. I am still within the 500-mile break-in that is recommended so I haven't really romped on them yet.

Here's what I've noticed: Improved wet weather traction; improved hydroplaning resistance; and maybe slightly less noise (placebo?). Another great benefit is that these tires don't pick up and throw every stone that they drive over.

Did you stay with stock sizes?

Totally agree! Especially the stone and gravel aspect. OEM size fills the gap nicely with the car lowered on stock bolts, particularly on the fronts. The rears actually have a slightly larger gap than the front, even if lowered, so going with the 285/35 might look a little odd by making a significantly smaller gap on the front as compared to the rear.

Don't venture too far from the factory diameters as it will throw off the traction control/ABS. Increasing front diameter without increasing the rear will trick the computer into thinking the rears are turning faster than they really are which will cause premature activation of TC.

Bill does a good job explaining:
