This anyone's Carbon 65? #171
This guy has no experience with corvettes. Hes a porsche guy. But this is pretty funny.
Doesn't know or maybe admit? That this car was ragged, sorry... driven the way it was designed... for 20k miles. Missing stock wheels also.

Ha, ha.. I had a little too much fun making this one. The Corvette Gods were not amused. After blowing about $800 on all that gear, I forgot the key in the jean short pocket and nuked it in the fire. Those darn jorts have amazing pockets. I have to go buy a new key now. On a serious note, I don't make videos for everyone. I get that. I don't fancy myself a Corvette guy and have never been a fan of the car. It just doesn't appeal to me, but all these opinions that I have are based on very little fact. I'm so fortunate to now have a platform that affords me the ability to experience things and justify them like I would never have done in the past. So I bought a C7 Z06 to experience, modify, drive, and learn. I will be well extremely well versed in the car by the end. That I can promise you. Then I won't be operating on opinion and rather have an experience. Who knows, maybe I've been missing out.
As far as this particular Carbon 65 car, I'm very disappointed in myself for not doing my due diligence. To be honest, I think since I never intended to keep the car long-term I just bought the car sight unseen. I knew something was a bit off since the car had 21,000 miles on it being a 2018, so I sent one of my Porsche buddies to look over the paint and body of the car. I fell in love with the Carbon 65 version, and since it was the only one for sale in the country that is a 7MT, I just bought it without digging more. Once I shared the car online some people started sharing some background they dug up. I came to find out the dude that owned it before tracked the crap out of the car. The CCBs are toast, and it has the wrong wheels on it and they are curbed. Who the heck hits curbs in a Corvette? On the bright side, it gives a project with stuff to fix. It has also opened up the idea to take this car to AMP in Atlanta and have Seth Thomas do some one on one driver training to improve my skillset without me caring as much as I would if I were using my GT3 RS.
I'll be starting a journal here on the forum soon to share the process.

Seriously? This can't be real. Jorts, New Balance shoes, a C7 jacket, a Z06 cap, a Corvette generations camp shirt + car show trophies. This is a joke right?! The creepy, faceless time-out doll seals it for me! A pretty good dark humor review.

MSG C5, I think you might be right about him making fun of the "Corvette guy". He's just missing the car show sign.
I starting watching that video the other day, but then stopped a couple of minutes in because he kept getting things wrong about the car. I guess it might have been on purpose.

I've watched his videos in the past with his various BMWs and Porsches. He's got some strong opinions but I find him to be honest. It'll be interesting how he goes about doing his mods and his impressions of the car going forward. He admits it'll be a learning experience because this is his first foray into the Corvette world.

The metuber's, a whole generation in love with the sound of their voice and their "accomplishments," which pretty much stopped the day mommy taught them to wipe their own hiney. Experts on everything and masters of nothing. Dancing like little monkeys in videos in hopes that youtube will throw some coins in their beanie caps as they troll for attention clickers.
Perhaps, like the remediation in Clockwork Orange, criminals will one day be strapped to chairs and forced to watch, with eyelid speculums opened, non-stop youtube from America's lamest generation, until the criminals plead that they are indeed cured, or go insane.
a you tube click is another minute of my life that I will never recover.

I knew he was trolling when he took the Jacket off . Don't know if he was serious but that was a pretty nice ride to do some of the things he was talking about. It kind of looked like the previous owner was pretty hard on it.

I'm a follower and customer of Matt's operation; Obsessed Garage. You can look it up. The video was a send-up of course and though I did find it hard to watch at times because the car is so much better than he knows right now, that's at least a part of the point of this exercise. He'll get to know it and appreciate the good stuff and be brutally honest about what he doesn't admire. All while dialing it in to make it the best it can be. Whatever you think, you can also admire this business he's built based on his passion which revolves around detailing and modifying cars to his sense of perfection (again, go check the obsessedgarage site).
I'm looking forward to what Matt does with the Z06. For us the great value of his business now and certainly as he gets into dialing in the Corvette, is that he fully explores the products and work so you don't have to... until you want to. And when you go do it, you'll have a great resource that will save you the time and expense of trial and error and let you go straight to what works.
One more thing; I don’t know why the self-proclaimed Porsche dudes are laughing. I mean I could put on my 50 yo Dentists uniform and do the same thing with any given 911. Harrumph

The guy has major OCD, watch his videos. Who ever get that car after him will be getting a good car. Perfectionist to a fault, imo.

I have met many successful online personalities. Many of them are fake, but most of them are just great at enrolling others. That enrollment can have extreme value. It has for me. I make about $4,000 a month in YouTube ad revenue, but Obsessed Garage will generate about $10,000,000 in revenue in 2019. I have worked harder "playing" online than I ever have working for larger corporations.
I hope that makes some sense to you.

I'm going to give it some time. The biggest issue I have right now is the seating position. I'm 6'2", so a little above average, and man...it's bad. I'm not sure I'll ever get over that. That darn engine though...It's amazing. Archaic, but amazing!

What car do you miss the most after selling or consider buying again?
Itd be cool if sometime down the line you get a manual zr1.
Cant wait for more videos of the z06 tho, I liked watching the gt350 series.
