You can have most cracks on the inner barrel repaired but they will simply crack again in another spot, They're junk.

I’d be interested in your cracked wheels. I could use as a back up. I weld alum. Thx! Mike. 5108679270

It truly baffles the mind that a manufacturer would put cast aluminum wheels of this size on a 3500+ lb. high performance sports/track car, then go a step further and fit ultra low profile run flat tires. GS/Z06 wheels must have bent and cracked during testing. So why not address the issue? Also, why was the C7 Z51 given forged wheels (IIRC) and not the GS and Z06? Makes no sense.

Take it for what it's worth but Spring mountain has Zero cracked wheels... ZERO in all these years now.. makes you wonder wth... if they're going to crack? They would have cracked them with the abuse those cars get. Doesn't make sense. Maybe freeze thaw cycle? Are there any california or florida wheels cracking? (Not bending that happens everywhere).

After mine cracked a second time in a different spot I opted not to fix it again.

Jacksonville Florida, both rears bent and left rear cracked. I've been to Spring Mountain in January, the track is very smooth with no pot holes and no seams in concrete like we have here in Florida.

There is a very well known welded by me that knows his stuff. I am thinking of having him weld a ring around the inside bead to reinforce them for track use.

I've been trying to find a bent/cracked wheel to make a garden hose reel. I'm in the north Dallas area if someone wants to donate

I just installed the Titan 7 TR-10 Satin Titanium on my 17 Z06 Watkins Glen Grey coup because the OEM back wheels cracked at 12,000 miles. I love them. A quality wheel that you will never have to worry about cracking.

Spring Mountain has pristine pavement. The only way to damage a rim there is to go off track.

Drop off in front of GM headquarters
Maybe if we all do they would finally acknowledge there is a pile of problem with these wheels.

Seriously though I am in the same spot. This Monday I will be sitting on 4 bend C7 GS black gloss wheels (3 of the cracked, 2 of them leaking air). And on 4 x Pilot Sport A/S3+ ~50% life (5-6 on thread), potentially all functional and ok (at least one of them has some surface scratches from interior side that dealership marked with sharpie - unknown origin unless I drove over a bear). [Chicago area]
I am traveling through USA, so I can't take them with me.

I've tracked the stock rims. They are fine on pristine road surfaces. The problem is when you drive TO and FROM the track. Your everyday road in the northern states will have every issue under the sun and eventually one of those tiny issues hitting the inner barrel over and over will bend/crack the rim.

A friend here in Jax Florida just cracked one here in mid August. No holes hit that he remembers, it just started leaking air.
He bought another for $900...what a waste.

it's not just obstructions that cause the cracks. More often, it's that the wheels first get bent by even some relatively modest hard driving in turns and dips at speed in the road on mountain highways like those in North Georgia and other fun roads. Once bent into slight ovals, the added stress on those high points eventually forms the cracks on the inside edge of the wheel. Once the crack migrates into the air chamber, the leaks start - that's when most owners find out they have cracked wheels. The bending first, then a later crack developing is the reason why most victims can never remember hitting an obstacle that would have caused the crack - it's because they never did hit one. It's a slow process from bend to crack to leak, sometimes up to a year. If you're driving on a really good flat surface at speed and you feel a vibration that's hard to pinpoint where it's coming from, it's probably a 90% chance you've got one or more bent wheels, AKA future cracks.
