Supercharger not working
Has anyone experienced the Z06 supercharger not working? Any ideas on the issue. Thanks for your help.

The boost gauge does move at all. I’m asking for a buddy. OnStar did a scan and stated no issues. My Z06 is working fine. Thanks

If it were a bearing failure you would have heard it in its death throes for sure. Broken serpentine would have lit up a CEL. Could be a simple pressure loss, but where? Gasket failure?

Sorry I’m not providing all the necessary info. Again it’s not my car and I can only relay what I’m told. He said “my C6 GRAND SPORT was just as fast as this Z06”. That is when I asked what is the gauge showing when he accelerates. He stated it doesn’t move at all. Not even when he gets into it. No noise coming from the engine. He’s going to contact the dealer in the morning however I just thought I’d see if it’s something simple Someone May have dealt with in the past. Thanks again for all the help.

I've owned 3 supercharged cars and have never had one "not work." If all of the "obvious" possibilities have been checked and appear to be functioning, I'd take it to the dealership. Maybe the boost gauge is bad.

OK - so let me clear everything up, as I am the one with the problem with my Z06.
To make a very long story short, I picked up my car from the dealer (Rick Conti) in Columbus, OH and drove back home to the Chicago area, being gentle with the car during the 500 mile break in period - so I never "tested" the supercharger. After the 500 mile break in, I took it to a local dealer to get the oil & filter changed - which was supposed to be a quick maintenance check as well. Obviously, I now wanted to see what this beast could do. So when I had a little room and space on the road, I downshifted and floored it - and as Mark said at the beginning, it just felt like my C6 Grand Sport - no extra power than what I was used to. It was at this point that Mark posted this as we were all stumped as to what it could be because its a relatively simple system. The next day I was heading to the NCM Bash, and I knew the Chevy peeps would be there, including the national service/quality manager and the Vette Tech, Paul Koerner. Paul figured it out in about 3 seconds. There was a plastic gap cover in the corner of the engine bay that had come loose and got caught up in the supercharger belt system, essentially tearing up the belt. The strange thing was that I had never heard any sounds or problems, other than when I floored it I was expecting some new unrealized power.
Bottom line, Chevy came through and immediately got me in to the local Chevy dealer with priority attention, and an hour later I had the car back and finally got to feel what the extra 200 HP really felt like. I am now a happy camper!

Thats awesome... im shocked you can drive these cars without those belts..... They should disable the SC for everyone for the first 500 miles so everyone breaks it in properly!
