Default Wheel spacers

i am sure this has been asked before, but is anybody running wheel spacers on their Z06’s? Thinking about going 1/2” in the fronts and 3/4” in the rear just to take the gap out of the wheel wells. I saw a C6 Z06 with this set up and the guy said he has had no problems with abnormal tire wear or alignment issues? Can anybody add anything or have pics of theirs? Thanks

It's not so much the alignment but what the stock studs can hold. I was told it's not recommended to go wider than 5mm. Some have done 10 or 15mm without problems but that's not something you wanna experiment with, especially if you drive the car aggressively.

The thing is that because GM put some WEAK offsets from the factory, matched with how WEAK the factory wheels are in terms of them cracking easily, it's actually a better investment to get some new wheels with better offsets.

That's what i did. Nothing is wrong with my wheels but after reading thread after thread about people cracking or bending their wheels, i decided to just buy some new wheels in lower offsets anyway.

It was a win win. Stronger wheels and better offsets. It should really set off the car nicely. I never really liked how the factory Z looked, in terms of the stance.

Thanks Rob food for thought.

I have 16mm up front at 22mm in back. You will definitely need longer wheel studs. I purchased mine from DRM motorsports. If you are handy the studs are easy to install in the front but more difficult in back.

I use lug nuts with a 1/2 inch extended shank as well. No issues and the wheels don't rub on the fenders. Don't go cheap on the spacers. You want a spacer that is both wheel centric and hub centric. I purchased the spacers custom made from Motorsport Tech.

I run 1/2 spacers on my winter tires. I never get on the car with the spacers on. I believe that in addition to comments above there is extra stress on the wheel bearings.

I run a -18mm lower rear offset on Cray wheels...which put the wheels flush with the fender lips now..and running 1/4" spacers out front. I did an alignment not because of that - but because of the lowering...

The alignment from factory had the car pulling like it was running on grooved pavement from day 1...and once I redid it...the car no longer had that issue.

Offsets do not require alignments...but suspension mods most certainly will.

I use the 5mm spacers from my C6 Z06 on my C7 Z06, with no problem on either car. Filling out the wheel wells definitely makes the car look better.

5mm spacer will only bring the wheel from a +59 to a +54. That's not enough to get the wheel "flush" with the fender if that's what you mean.

A taller tire will fill out the wheel well, but also throwing off your speedo.

You would need i believe a +38-+40 rear wheel to make it flush with the fender. But then you might have rubbing issues if you're low enough.
