To some, that will be the biggest part of the decision, if they are highly insecure.

The A8 guys will never know what it's like to downshift with the rev matching on. No matter what they do, they can fine tune everything with a million dollar tuner, it still won't downshift like the M7 with rev match on

Fun factor in yanking the stick has manliness written all over it. Not putting it in D and falling asleep

The LDF and PDK transmissions are manual transmissions without the clutch. Once you drive them, you don't want to go back to a single-clutch manual shift. They rev-match same as a stick...
None of the supercars today have stick, with the exception of a few limited Porsche 911 models, with good reason too.

But theres hope for the c8 to have a proper auto. Then I'll be jumping on the auto bandwagon at that time.
until then I'll stick with the manual instead of a slushbox.

I also ordered an M7 car. Not sure how the C8 Z06 will be like but I'll look into it once the 2nd or 3rd year model are out, with hopefully the kinks/bugs worked out.

so just so were clear, are you implying the a8 is just as good or better than the pdk?
if so what is your PayPal, because I want in bulk whatever it is you're smoking. You can overcharge me too and I'll still pay.
the pdk is generations above what the a8 could ever be.

" By 1993, a number of teams were testing CVTs in their cars under race conditions. Unsurprisingly, because the engines were not wasting time or power revving up and down the unprofitable parts of their power-curves, the cars were fast…several seconds a lap faster than traditional transmissions.
The CVT cars were arguably too fast. Not because the cars or the drivers could not sustain the pace, but because they were able to seriously upset the competition’s ability to compete without them. For this reason, to preserve competitive balance, Formula 1’s governing body decided to ban the use of CVTs.)
Hey, don't forget to order your next car with manual roll-up windows. And don't use those ***** turn signals either. It's still perfectly legal most places to use arm signals out the window.

Wait. Cvt is the best??? Ok now I know you're trolling.
I'll admit, you're pretty good at trolling. I thought I was good at it. I definitely met my match with you lol.
let me see a cvt trans do any type of performance driving. The cvt in my car is a full second slower to 60 and like 2 seconds slower in the 1/4 compared to the 6 speed manual lol

What do you think is happening when you leave the line in your A8, before the torque converter locks up?
4.56 is not your lowest ratio!

Here's my perspective on the M7 vs A8 dilemma. If you like the M7 God Bless you. If you like the A8 God Bless you. I didn't get the A8 to make anyone else happy but me. As I said in a previous post, I've had manual transmissions in a number of performance/sports cars over the years and decided to go with the A8. We can be critical of each other all day long, but at the end of the day it's about choosing a transmission that makes you happy. What's "best" for someone else doesn't make it the "best" choice for me. There is no right or wrong answer. We can argue back and forth and disagree all day long, but in the end it's about your driving habits and what makes you happy.
