For me I went with the stock Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP run-flats, and the newest and latest Magnetic Ride upgrade and I couldn't be more happier with this setup

When you did the latest magnetic ride control software upgrade how did the car feel different (street, race track) and did it improve the ride (all modes or just touring)??? I have decided to replace the cup tires with pilot Super Sport ZP's. I will not being tracking the car but I feel the Michelin's will stick better which is an extra margin of safety. Surely they will ride better with less road noise than the cups.

I got the latest update which I believe was released in January and it's an upgrade you have to pay for. There's threads on it and the Touring is way softer. I haven't tried any other settings yet as I'm afraid to bend another wheel that's why I got the Magnetic Ride update because one of my wheels was bent and I had only really driven in touring. But I bought the car used with like 12,000 miles on it. I'm sure the previous owner bent it because I bought new tires like right when I got the car and discovered one of the front wheels was bent. I'd be willing to try sport now on some decent roads as touring is pretty soft

I'm also considering making the switch from Cup 2s to MPSS when my Cup 2s are worn out (should be soon, at 3,600 miles, lol) and have a question for those with bolt-on mods. I'm thinking of doing pulley/headers/tune which will bring me to approximately 650rwhp.

Can anybody with a similar power level comment on the MPSS straight line traction? Will I be able to roll into 2nd gear and hook on a warm day?

What's interesting with these Cup 2s (vs. say Toyo R888 or BFG Rival S) is they almost feel like they are gripping perhaps worse than MPSS would in 90% of conditions on the street. Even on a warm day if I'm just cruising around and decide to do a 2nd gear pull, the car will spin with only 580rwhp. Now, if I get some real heat into them, they will somewhat hook even in first, but this takes some effort to do. Whereas other R-comp tires (i.e., R888) seem much better for straight-line grip, even when not at optimal temps. I mean, I do understand it, the Cup 2 compound on the Z07 is meant for road course work, has a stiff sidewall, and likely lasts longer on the street not getting heat cycled every time I drive on the highway, so I'm sure I have my answer... I just want to see if others can echo my experience and can confirm the MPSS will be an improvement if I go with them next.

Thanks!

Have been using the Contis for a few years now -- perfect every day tire, even in mild snow conditions. Combined with the shock software update, my around town ride is nearly plush, which is important on the rough, pot-holed roads in the northeast.

I have intake, cat delete pipes, x pipe, tune and made 643whp. It hooks very well in 2nd. first spins some but not bad. Mpss work very well.

I have the R888's (315's) on 11" rear rims on my 08 Z51 LS3. This is a manual NA car that makes 532 RWHP and these tires hook much better than the wider cup tires in warm weather on the street compared to the cups. My completely stock 2016 ZO6 is an automatic and I expect it makes around 570 RWHP. Can't wait to get these tires changed.

I believe I have found the answer to why my cup tires just don't stick as well as the R888's on my 08 Z51 Corvette. I do not track either car and I found a reference that said the cups have to get to a temperature of 170 + F before they work as designed. My cup tires will never reach that temperature on the street. These tires look to me like they are designed primarily for track use. I didn't have any choice as they came on my car from the previous owner. If you are going to drag race you're ZO6 street drag radials on the rear look like a better choice than the cups otherwise the Michelin SS ZP looks like the best choice to me for street, but opinions vary.

Anyone have an idea on the miles you get on the 888's. I know driving habits determine a lot but for mainly cruising around town and the occasional WOT burst, ideas?

I'm not knocking the Conti's, but I use Michelin PSS non-run flats

Just paid $1306.78 mounted and balanced out the door.
Dunn Tire in WNY. No issues with the install!

I would to but they don't make them in the same stock sizes as I need for my 2016 ZO6.

The Michelin PSS run flats are a night and day improvement over the Goodyear run flats from years ago. The Contis are a good non-run flat alternative, however another option to quiet down the run flat tires is to install a sound deadening kit in the car.

I would go for these tires but I suspect they will just not bite well enough for a 600+RWHP ZO6. great deal on price though.

Any pics of them mounted? I want these badly but worry about the rounded shoulder appearance, especially on the rears as it seems the sidewall heights are different.
