What do you think of this Z06?
Hi -
I am a current Porsche and Ferrari owner. I am on 6SpeedOnline, Rennlist and FerrariChad all under 3point8 and have quite a bit of posts.
I am considering purchasing this Z06: http://www.criswellchevroletofthurmo...-MD/3167400903
The pictures are not up yet but the sales manager has sent me pictures and it looks like, well, a new Z06.
Any thoughts on the car or price? They dealer said the list price is the lowest they can go. I called around to other dealers and no one has room to negotiate. Is this your experience? Lastly, does anyone have experience with this dealer?
Thank you!

Great Dealer.
Very well respected on the forum.
One point, as you are coming from Ferrari and Porsche, you may want to consider a 3LZ instead of 2LZ.
The reason I say this, coming from experience, is the 3LZ trim level, especially the leather work on the doors and dash, is more on par with those brands.
While the 2LZ offers the equipment level, with exception of NAV/PDR (which is an option), the synthetic material used on the dash and door panels is drastically different than the 3LZ Napa leather from a look, touch, and smell perspective.

I don't know about Criswell at Thurmont but if you want good pricing on a Vette from Criswell you should call Mike Furman at Criswell in Gaithersburg. At least that is the first place I would call given what you are looking at. From there you have Kerbeck in Atlantic City, McMulkin in New Hampshire, Les Standford in Dearborn, MI, Mattick in the Detroit area as well, Rick Conti at a dealership in Ohio plus a bunch of others. All of these dealers/sales reps sell nationally and are very competitive.

As far as what I think of the car it looks like a nice car but it depends on what your goals for the car are. If you are just interested in a street/highway touring vehicle then something like this is fine. If you want a car for the track then you might want to consider something with the Competition Seats, Stage 2 or 3 Aero package and maybe the Z07 package which includes the Stage 3 Aero, FE7 suspension and the ceramic brakes.
You could update the referenced car by adding aftermarket aero, converting the seat backs to the competition version and not worrying about the ceramic brakes which are very good but expensive to replace when rotors and pads wear out. It is sort of a depends what you want to do thing.

Hi and Welcome...
May I ask you to search Rick Corvette Conti and call him with your wants and see what he will do...a second opinion, as they say...you may save some off List...he’s in OH and is well versed in getting the car to you or helping you get to him..
Either call or text him. I’d be curious if he can earn your business...and...you will like him..Good luck...enjoy the new Z06...

Just traded in my 991-s on a 19 Z06 last weekend at Crisswell in Gaithersburg. Have been happy with both the car and dealership.
Before I went to Crisswell I looked at a local dealer. Ughh it was not a good experience, pricing wasn’t great plus I felt like I was dealing with a slimey used car salesman. Crisswell felt a bit more like the Pcar dealerships that I’ve been in before. No pressure, knew their cars, took time to make sure I was getting what I wanted and was treated very nice. No Messing around, no bs. I dealt with Abe.

big discounts on the new z06's will eventually kill the value for all the rest of our cars. i monitor current value closely and at the first sign of any negative changes, i'll sell it....i've had 5 within the past 6 years, lol.

Looks like a deal to me. With the black interior I think the 2lz is great. I couldn't justify the difference with 3lz. Other colors give a nice contrast though. Most will tell you the Nav isn't needed since it has CarPlay. The PDR is only reallly used if your a trackrat. Coming from a BMW with NAPA leather I have no problem with my 2lz.

Mike Furman has a stellar reputation around here. He's been selling Corvettes for many years and has sold a ton of them. Contact him and he'll make sure you get the car that's right for you. He is a Corvette owner, a car guy and a straight shooter; all rolled into one.

thanks so much everyone! i appreciate the insight. Criswell has been great so far. i appreciate the thoughts about the 3lz. I started out looking for a 1lz because i was mostly interested in performance then saw this 2lz that was at a lower asking price than many others i have seen. i would go 3lz but its a little out of reach as i will be keeping the 911 and 430. there was a used 3lz nearby that was optioned out that was optioned out. 2017 with 280 miles and they wanted $75k for it. probably should have jumped on that.

This is smart. Mine is 3LZ and while I've never compared a 3Lz and a 2LZ side by side, I do spend a lot of time jumping back and forth between the Z and more expensive european cars. If you're doing that you certainly want the best interior in the Z that you can get!
