You dont like the car we get it, Why keep posting? What is your point of doing so?? I had a c6 Z06 and a C6 ZR1, no way its feels weaker, at least the C6 Z06, ZR1 pull harder on top, but i like the C7Z powerband's better! With that said, move on or contribute with something that worth being posted!!

Get a base Porsche 991 911

Great track cars, very reliable, nimble, and puts the power down smoothly.

I was thinking the same thing! Racers (well the regulators) have used them for years to limit power!

Might be worth looking at ECS as they use them on their superchargers. Might even have a filter and testrictor (yours would need to be smaller) ready to go!

Wonder how the ECU would react?

Ask a race shop in the area.

In reality, many would benefit from reduced HP and progressing their driving ability.

As the HP wars are out of control an option in the car to set the max hp by 100 increments would be a great feature. Similar to traction control modes. And no, TC modes don’t do the same thing.

If it’s a wet track day, detuning the car to 450hp and running it in race would be a great option to have and would help a lot of drivers improve. Just 1 example.

Simple tuning, find someone with HP tuners or EFI Live and have them lower the commanded TQ table to your desired level.

That just pained me to type that btw.

1/2 of you - go ahead and laugh - the rest of you - is this easily doable? Like different sized pulleys or something?
We've "detuned" the LT4 superchargers for the LT4-to-LT1 supercharger conversion kit by adding an increased diameter upper pulley. At first I was going to recommending just de-tuning the car, but I think de-tuning a LT4 100hp without decreasing supercharger rpm's might not actually be possible.

All things considered, it would be pretty inexpensive to do, $199 for the pulley plus the cost of the tune.

It would be hilarious to see you go to the track with a de-tuned Z06 then watch you out drive someone in a stock one.

Yup, I typed up the "how to" of steps to get you right to the cell, but no one was willing to venture a guess as to what -values- would be appropriate in the demand table, so it died there.

Everyone's a big picture guy, no one seems comfortable with the actual details. Or they get hand wavy about it being too easy or too hard or too time consuming or not fun or some other reason!

Not sure if it would throw a code, but cover up 1/2 of the backside of the air filter with a rag. Cheap, simple and removable.

Sport 1 will give you PTM, Limited stability control, dampened throttle response (not reduced power) and no Traction Control.

If you want to practice using PTM you can drive on Dry Pavement in Wet Mode and PTM will activate on almost every corner exit at moderate throttle. Good way to play with it without throwing caution all the way to the wind. Once you have an idea how it works move to Dry for a while and then Sport 1. PTM works in every sub mode including race.

Thank you Bill. I honestly didn't think about going further into Track mode when I was at Road Atlanta. I just put it in track. Car did very well for my first track experience in a C7Z. Signed up for a couple more tracks this year and would like to get as much seat time as possible. Thanks again. Regards, Sal

While the power is tameable, it’s certainly delivered from the factory “fast.” Maybe you have one of the duds needing some sizzle.
