Default C7 Z06 or C6 ZR1 ?

So I saved my $ and am finally ready to buy, what do you gentlemen think?
C6 ZR1 or C7 Z06
I like the rarity. uniqueness and the look of the ZR1 but the tech on the C7 is hard to ignore, so...
What do you recommend for what reason? and those of you who have owned/driven both please share your thoughts <<<
thanks!

The ZR1 is bad ***. However it's tough to beat a new C7 Z06 with the extra tech and a new car warranty. Unless you can get a hell of a deal on a low mile ZR1 I'd go C7. There are some great deals now.

Better get the Z06 if you were saving to buy one. This is a silly thread as there is a lot of difference in price.
Just saw C6 ZR1 well is it Cz06 all day and twice on sunday

I have both!!

The C6 ZR1 is a great car.

But the C7 Z06 is what you want to get!!!

It's nice that you have some options with the C7 - coupe (with removable top), convertible, auto or manual transmission. But if you're gonna track it, definitely get the M7 - and of course a coupe!! The A8 has been having overheating problems on the track.

Let us know what you end up with!!

so local dealer took a 16 2lz with 10k miles A8 in on trade, looked perfect. $53k, sold it for $60k. These things are taking a beating. Wow.

New. If you want used you can do even better. However do your homework and make sure it hasn't been tuned as that'll void powertrain warranty.

will do, thank you for the help. I would be happy with a low mileage used one if it made sense.

in my area, I've seen more c7Z06 than I have ZR1...actually since they came out in 09 I saw two Zr1 to date, and one is mine lol... so for "rarity" at least in my area the ZR1 wins. For rarity as a matter of total production, the ZR1 wins 10/1 (if we use last year total Z06 production).
Drive both if you're on the fence
You also have to remember how much different the C6Z cars were from the C6, and how much add on they did from Z06 to Zr1 on the C6 platform...all this to me makes it even more unique...but if you don't care for any of that then the new car makes more sense.

Having driven both, I'd go C7Z 9 times out of 10.

The only way your going to know is to go drive both. That said, the C7Z has a lot of variations that you can do. The C6ZR1 does not. If you want or need an auto then the debate is over. If you want a removable top or convertible the debate is over. If its down to budget then you have a decision to make and you can't go wrong with either.
