Get my car in a couple weeks. I'm just curious, does the 10 speaker system that comes with the 2LZ, the extra speaker over the 1LZ, is it a sub?...

Yes it is. Goes in the back.

Yeah. It's not big. But it changes the whole sound system with some bottom end. It's not earth shattering but satisfactorily fills the void left by non sub bose system.
coming from a C6 that I had to add a 10" sub to? I have zero complaints. The 1LZ system was going to cause me to add a sub. Glad I went fully loaded, for that and all the other reasons lol.

I had a 1LT then a 3LZ now a 1LZ and the sad thing is I think the 1L sounds better, that sub is muddy.

Great news, glad I went with the 3LZ for many reasons, and now this! I'm not looking for crazy bass but a little low end is nice, glad I don't have to go the aftermarket route.

If you mean there's more boomy with it then ok, yes there is a bit more. That doesn't make it a quality sound.

My base 2006 Honda Civic had a better sounding stockradio than my 2015+ GM vehicles.
The sound is muddy no matter the setting. The Mids and Highs get drowned out.

I found it to be decent but needs to be re-adjusted based on the volume level. I wound up actually creating three presets for "Low Bass, Mid Bass, High Bass" and saving those as favorites. Then as you adjust the volume level, pick the bass setting that sounds best.
Sort of crude, but it allowed me to enjoy the sound a lot more. Until the presets stopped working (AV stack is kind of buggy, at least in the 15s).

The sound from the 10 speaker system is noticeably better than the 9 speaker system. The base speaker and the cabinet design give the entire system a whole different sound.

Sit in my 16 Sierra and turn it uo let me know how bad it sounds lol. I've driven and listened to honda stereos. I cannot figure out where you are getting tour reference from? The sound like trash. Not to mention how do you hear that stereo over the FART can exhaust lol.
you're either a fan of bose sound or not. I have it in my house and my gm vehicles. U also have toyota JBL system in a car sounds ok amd new grand Cherokee idk what's in this loaded jeep but it's boomy but no where near as clear as my bose systems.

The *fact* is that the C7 system with the extra sub in the back can sound very good if adjusted properly. When it comes from the factory the bass is set too high, and who knows what the dealership has done also.
I would personally turn off the Audiopilot system, since that monkeys with the sound as the car's speed changed. Better to just turn it up and down yourself if necessary. I would also recommend turning Centerpoint ON. I've heard people say gibberish about it making the sound "processed", but that's pretty silly. It works with the speaker layout better.
Also, understand that the system will sound totally different if you have windows down and/or the top off. That is inevitable.
