If you have a convertible make sure your top is up and locked!

Try pushing down on the trunk lid while manually using the key (from the FOB) - that will release some pressure on the lock and may help.

Does the trunk lock sould like it is trying to unlock with the key FOB button? If so, again you can try a little pressure down on the lid while pushing the FOB button,

Sorry for posting here since I do not have a Z06, but I am just now having this problem on my Stringray.

2015 Z51 Convertible

Key Fob, button by steering wheel and button by license plate do not open the trunk. Only using the mechanical key is successful. When trying the others the mechanism does make a sound like it tried to open, but nothing. i have tried the suggestions above and nothing works.

What is this recall thqt is mentioned. I cannot find it anywhere.

Has there been success identifying the culprit?

My convertible just starting doing the same thing. Top up and locked and no Electrical means work except for using manual key from remote.

Fuse?
Bad battery in the key fob?

Fuses are good and FOB battery is good. All attempts activate a clicking noise in trunk by latch and brake lights flash using FOB. It just won’t release trunk unless you use Key witch seems to operate by cable from what I’m reading.

Does the trunk open slightly and then reverse back down? Could be the seals sticking. Open with the manual key treat the seals and lock mechanism with silicone spray.

It’s a 14’ without power latching system. It’s the Electrical side of the Latching release system that doesn’t seem to respond. ??? The Key from FOB pops the trunk open with ease.

Since you don't get any electric release from buttons or fob you may have a blown fuse, bad relay, or ???

There is a fuse in the rear fuse block labelled REAR CLOSURE (#23 for 2014). It is the switched circuit from relay KR95B REAR COMPARTMENT LID UNLATCH RELAY. Not sure where it is located - not shown in the fuse box as a plug in.

It ended up my detail bag shifted over enough to put pressure on trunk lid. I didn’t notice or think that could do it.
