Removing aerodynamics on C7 ZO6/ZO7 ?
Going mile or mile and a half in spring. Considering removal of some of the aerodynamics on my C7ZO6 ZO7 to gain a little top speed.
Went 167 in the mile in my C6ZO6 and hoping to improve on that with new C7ZO6.
Seems that removing some of the down force may allow for increased top speed in either event.
Any thoughts?

Yes, make it as close to possible as a stage 1 aero for maximum speed. There is a difference in MPH between the stages for sure. I have seen 4 MPH difference between 1 and 2 and 8 between 1 and 3. At a minimum, remove the wicker bill. You should be in the upper 170's with maybe cracking 180 if the weather and conditions are good. That is for the mile. I have never done a mile and a half, but that sounds like a load of fun.

If you have a Stage 3 car pull the center wicker and reinstall the front splitter Stage 2 End caps the dealer swapped for the Stage 3 caps when the car was prepped for sale.

Here's a thread where I removed the clear center wicker and the replaced Stage 2/3 spoiler extensions with the short Stage 1 extensions for when running high-speed track events. But, you don't need the Stage 1 wings, as you can see in the first picture in the thread you can just leave the spoiler with nothing attached to reduce drag:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1-2-aero.html
And as mentioned, remove your Stage 3 front splitter end plates and either don't install anything, or replace them with the Stage 2 ones. Below is my car at Daytona with the Stage 2 front end plates and the Stage 1 spoiler wings, and the car is very stable at high speed in that configuration:
Also, if you're able to run with the windows closed that will reduce a bit of drag.
I've heard of some guys that run these events that they fold in the side mirrors, and one forum member had pictures of his car at an event and he had removed the vent intakes from the top of the rear fenders, but I can't imagine that would reduce very much drag - but every little bit of drag reduction will help.
Tires - are you running stock tires, or some DR's? A little bit of extra pressure may reduce rolling resistance. I run track events with the Sport Cup 2's, but I have a set of PSS's for the street and I'd probably run them with maybe 6-8 psi more pressure - that's the hot pressure increase I get when running a roadcourse.

WooHoo!!! Very nice, h3mpking!! Stock PSS tires? What pressure? Was this a static start, or rolling? A8 or M7? That's a VERY fast 1/4 mile for a bone stock car.
So, there ya' go, daje58 - just do what h3mpking did and you'll do as good as a stock C7 Z06 will do!!

A8 with stock MPSS tires that I just set at 30. I've played with pressures from 27 to 35 and with these low profile thick sidewall tires, I don't notice a huge difference. Static start. The biggest difference in MPH is the aero as OP has asked about. The stage 2 and 3 guys are always wondering why they are running so much slower. Have to get the aero down as you have mentioned. Now, air was good that day so I wouldn't expect to see many stock Z06's running 183-184, but give or take 178-181 depending on weather is realistic with good weather and driver.

That "Aero Plate" is just a method of mounting a front license plate.
It would just add drag - or at least reduce cooling airflow to the radiator, but overheating shouldn't be a problem at all for the short length of time you'll be running a 1 mile event. Even in a 1-1/2 mile event, if you get up toward 180 in the first mile, the next 1/2 mile would only take another maybe 10 seconds more.
If in your state you need to run a front license plate, remove it for this type of event.

2015 Z06/Z07... removed the back clear wicker and the front winglets prior to Mojave Magnum(2015)... The car went 193 with no other modifications ( the back end did dance a little over 190 but as long as you point it straight and don't do anything excessive it was fine )

What a blast that must have been for an entire mile and a half!. Do they give you a print out of your speed that includes the mile speed? If so, what was your mile.

It's just so damned far away. Would be cool to have some of the Tx Mile regulars meet up and run it. The time/travel commitment would be a bear, tho.

That would definitely be a good time. Maybe one of those things where I would ship the car and fly out there and fly back. Looking at dates, The Magnum is tentative April 8-9 2017. That would be right after the mile. One year maybe do the Magnum instead of the Mile.
