Dual Roof Option - Who Has It and Do You Use It?
Considering the body-colored dual roof option on a 2017 build. However I've curious how many have ordered it and actually use both roofs on a regular basis? It is a good option or an option you rarely use. Should I use the $2K elsewhere?

It came on my first 2016 which I bought off the lot....I used the clear roof in the winter and the body color roof in the warmer weather (no roof in the nice weather, or course).
When I ordered my second 2016, I decided to save the $2K, thinking that if I missed it, I could buy the clear roof for same money or less.
I have not missed it at all, and I am glad that I saved the money. I sold my storage bag (you really should get the storage bag, so there goes another $100+), and I am happy not to have the darn thing taking up room in the basement or garage.
To each their own, though...there is no wrong answer.

Have the CF and clear roofs as they came with the car that I bought off the lot. I would not have ordered the clear roof had I had my car built. That said, I use both of them. Like the clear roof in the winter, as I like the view and the perception of more space. Use the CF roof in the summer to keep the heat down. Like them both. If I had to have only 1, I'd keep the CF. Doubt that I would miss the clear roof too much, but I am happy to have it and don't regret paying the extra $ for it.

I live in Florida so I know guys who use the body-colored or exposed CF roof in the summer and then switch to the clear roof during the winter when it's not as hot and the sun is lower in the sky. I think I would enjoy both, however I'm wondering if I would choose to go topless during the winter more often instead of installing the transparent roof. Storage of the second roof is another thing to consider.

I think I am in the minority (again). My 2015 only came with the colored roof (torch red), and I bought the clear glass roof from a guy that forgot to trade it in with his purchase of a 2016.
It is a pain to exchange the roofs----yes, they are light and it can be done in just minutes, but it is still a pain because we are lazy. However, I am very glad I have both roofs. It gives the car two different looks-----my kids love the look with the glass roof on.
I bought the bag for the roof------and I frequently just keep the 2nd roof in the trunk. As a result, it doesn't take up space in the house or garage, and I can switch roofs on a whim.
Removing the roof isn't too much of an option for me------I am usually with my wife and it is either too cold (even when in the 90's), or too windy. However, she loves the clear glass roof.
Downside with the the glass roof------it does get hot inside; the sun 'glares' thru; to see comfortably, you typically need a brimmed hat in the day---which just goes against the grain----need a hat inside a car???. I normally use the glass roof at night; in the early Spring here in NE, or in late September and October.
I would buy the 2nd roof again in a heartbeat. Note, most members of my club only use their glass roof----colored roof sits in their garages.

I have the dual roof body color option. The car was delivered with the body color roof installed. After a couple of weeks I installed the glass roof, bought an accessory storage bag and hung the body color roof in the garage. It hasn't been on the car in 11 months. Even in the North Carolina summer heat/sun I had no issues with the glass roof. The AC in the car can handle the extra heat and the only thing I found I need with a glass roof is a baseball cap to keep the sun light from shining behind my sunglasses. It is like riding in a Vert without all of the wind, dirt or noise.

Z06 came stock with a body color top. I picked up a take off transparent top. I may run the transparent top all the time but summers do get brutal in Texas. Right now - the transparent top is hard to beat.

Like others here, I run the clear roof in the winter. It looks incredible inside the car. I love it! Makes the car feel more special. Everyone says "wow!" when they sit in the car and look up for the first time.
I swap on the body colored roof in the summer to keep the heat down.

I run the clear roof only all year round. If the summer months start to get hot I attach the the $100 headliner which works great.

Also, keep in mind that the carbon fiber roof is 7 pounds lighter than the clear roof. It's a little easier to lift in/out and if you track the car, that is 7 pounds less weight.
