Default Not singling out a specific vendor, but....

is it common for some vendors in here to take your payment and then NOT provide delivery info of your purchase? Or better yet, list your order status on their website as "on hold" with no explanation as to why?

I have my brand new Z sitting in my garage waiting for accessories that will prevent a substantial amount of road rash, only to find out tonight that my order was placed on hold a week ago. No idea why, they sure didn't waste any time taking my money. I am purposely not out on the road enjoying it so as to not have it beat to death by rocks.

Only if that vendor is in Canada, then it's normal.

Put these O'Reilly splash guards on.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...that-work.html

Or for extra protection use these long ones.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...sh-guards.html

Both of these guards don't cost very much and you can use them till your other parts come in. They are quick to install and remove.

^^^^ Whoa those are hideous. Not sure I would even put those on a Silverado. However if you like them that's all that matters.

Yea that's frustrating. Is it a Carbon Fiber part they are making? If so I've had a similar issue a few years back with a vendor regarding same.

As you can see in the second link, I also added these. I have frequently mentioned them to people at shows and all said they thought they looked stock and did not look bad. I don't even notice them anymore.--Bob

duct tape comes in lot of colors. Wax it and put on some tape while you are waiting. I rather enjoy the car then be held hostage for accessories. It wont look that bad and most folks will not even notice it.

This is the new way: AWESOME customer service prior to the payment. After that it's crickets. Welcome to the new world order.

Had same issues with vendor from Canada. What a mess that was and I will never do any business with him ever again. Awesome products but the lies after he took 8k of my money was not cool. I got my product only when I threaten to call my CC for a full refund.

If that bad, I personally would have no problem naming names......its 2016 and I work dam hard for my money. If they are too stupid to realize there's always somebody waiting to grab there busy, then shame on them. They chose the customer service business, not you. A heads up for future members could save them from the same plight. 8k ain't 800. JMOP

I found out the hard way that you can't talk bad about supporting vendors here. That's why I didn't want to post any names. Only if he treated me right I would still be buying his products. But will not go through all the headaches over again.

Cancel the order, get a refund and go drive...

Seriously, it's a not a museum car is it? You're bound to get some Knicks here and there, but what does that really do when you go and sell or trade it in. Nada.

OP, I had a similiar experience... I cancelled the order and went w/ACS. The skirts were at my door in 3 days...

If you're referring to side skirts, which offers the best protection to the rockers and rear brake vents.

Not sure what vendor you are dealing with but I used ACS to ship the skirts to the museum for install prior to delivery. They shipped the next day with tracking number and fit perfectly. I had a very good experience dealing direct with ACS.

Any problem in getting the museum to install them? Cost?

The museum installed the ACS skirts and the regular GM wheel splash guards for $100. They have installed ACS skirts many times and have storage space to hold them while waiting for your car to come off the line; ACS regularly ships stuff directly to the museum.
