Default Blendmount mirror suspension for radar....anyone?

Thinking of giving this a try on my Z06 with an Escort max 2. Anyone out there with experience to recommend for or against this?

I have a blendmount in all my cars. In the Z, I have a blendmount with a Max 360.

I love the Escort products, but it gets very hot here in OKC and the suction cups just don't work. The blendmount is a much, much better way to go. (The best fringe benefit is that the unit is completely quiet now. With the suction cups, you can get a ticking noise from the detector mount.)

I don't know if it's just me or not. But the blendmount I got for my Z06 seems to be falling off a lot. It doesn't really fit well around the rear view mirror and it's already fell at least 5 times. I've tightened all the bolts to the max.

I have one I'm not using. It's brand new. I'll sell it to you for half price plus shipping. So like $75

I bought one back for my stingray. As of late it will not stay put. I can tighten the screw that keeps it from point towards the console. But it will not hold I think a little loctite should work to hold it up.

I found that you really have to be sure the two clamp halves are aligned well. If they are offset at all, they don't hold.

Do you have the mirror tap power cord?

What install did you go with?

Do you have the mirror tap? Can you include that or are you still using it?

I had the blend mount on my C6Z. Worked OK but vibrated a lot. So, I went with a mount that sticks to the back of the mirror for my C7 with 3M adhesive. More stable in my experience than the blend mount.

Yea, this has been an issue for me as well with my install. There is not enough room behind the mirror to work it in right it seems as well. But I did finally get it very tight and it's been right for a while then with driving and bumps it loosens up. Very frustrating. I put some double sided tape on the mirror base so to tighten into something to grasp besides another hard surface (plastic or metal whatever it is) the bracket does not stay put for the long haul. It's great when it's solid. Tapped into the mirror looks great too. Good luck!

I don't know what you guys did, but my blendmount was rock solid in my c6z, gt350, accord, and c7z. I have nothing but good experience with blendmount and mirror tap

Same here, around town it's been ok on my long trip to Carlisle it fell off like 5 times. On the way home I took a tie wrap and wrap it around the clamp and didn't have an issue this time after 7 hours driving back. When I got home took out the screw and applied Loctite so I guess we'll see if this helps or not.

I've used the blendmount and mirror setup in 4 different vehicles now. I just ordered a new one to fit my Z. I've never had one not stay in place. I think it is a great, clean setup.

The reason I started this thread is because I have a friend who used the Blendmount but had issues with it loosening and falling and also limiting the movement of his mirror so he ditched it and now uses the big suction cup that comes with the new Max 2. He prefers that with a mirror tap. I'm trying to figure out which way to go.....may try the suction cup first and see how that goes. Also need a way to hide the mirror tap cable when not plugged in ....don't like seeing the loose cable dangling if I don
T have the radar in place.

Anyone think a cop who pulls you over is more likely to ticklet you if he sees a radar detector?
