Default F1X Procharged Z06 Killed 3 Fuel Pumps!!

I am lost man. Very frustrating. Original pump lasted 200 miles with the procharger, second pump 20 miles, third pump didn't even make it to the dyno. $900 per pump. Vengence racing stage 2 cam kit, F1X car made 1000rwhp. Can anyone help with some input on this? Thanks.

We have been on the phone with the OP AND his shop for countless hours offering technical support and even tuning support. When the first pump failed our first question was "Did you measure the fuel pump lobe prior to install? Followed by " Did you use the GM tool to install the HPFP?.... The answer to both questions was "No".... We suggested numerous times to measure the lobe lift on the fuel pump lobe and get back to us. If anything was found wrong with the camshaft itself we would certainly work with Cam Motion to resolve the situation. Unfortunately we were never given this opportunity.

VR always supports our customers before/during AND AFTER the sale.

ya which pump are you killing high side or low side? since the first c7 we did years ago and all the countless c7's we have done since we have yet to ever have one fail. Not saying they can't because even puppies die new, but 3 in a row something is up man.

At $900 a pump I assume he is talking about the HPP.

If its the HFPP and it has the cam lobe that could be the issue. The rod is getting lifted to much and taking out the pump. Some guys have had the bolts that hold the pump down onto the block actually break because the pump was being pushed to much.

I believe the guys that have had the bolts break or pull out also had a lash cap. I am sure like anything there is a limit on the size of the fuel lobe before the reliability of the pump goes out the window.

32% on all of them and absolutely zero failures here.

32% on all Z06's or on LT1s?

Has anyone measured an LT4 cam lobe to compare it to the LT1 lobe and a 32% lobe?

It has been measured that the LT4 pump has less room to increase with more lobe or lash cap as it is just a bored and stroked version of the LT1 pump so that extra space is already taken or mostly taken up.

Never measured them. But we are using comps 32% lobe. I'm not saying we are doing anything special but having done so many c7's and Z's with many of the c7's having a Z hpfp because we do so much e85 setups we have yet to ever have one fail.

lobe with no lash cap seems to be the way, haven't heard a lot of lash cap builds lately.

Yes, it's the high pressure side... We are measuring the lobe tomorrow. P.S. First pump did shear the bolts off!!

Without the lash cap we no longer get the 32% more fuel... So I think we are going to switch the cam to the comp cam without the lash cap.
