So who's downgrading from a C7Z to the new GS?

Oh, there's a whole pile of them....still trying to decide which transmission to get, A8 or M7.

I think it's still more plausible than the Hell Kitty! They should offer another variety with all the forged internal of the Z06, minus the supercharger and called it GS-R. Maybe then, guys that are going to rip out the 1.7 for a 2.9 or a Procharger will buy. This market will be so small though, GM won't bother.

I hope a lot of people are! Fiancée ok'ed the z purchase after the wedding. October 29th couldn't come any sooner. Hopefully a lot more used Z's for sale then.

... but the GS is lighter, NA, runs cooler, cheaper insurance, bla bla bla. I think I'll keep the Z

I know that one will not say a word in here.

old mistake
I had a C6Z, later a 2013 Grand Sport. I bought both cars new. As great as the GS was it was never as good as my C6Z.
I was never happy with the GS after having the ZO6 first. So, take my word for it and buy the ZO6.
GM is good at marketing and predictable. They will have the GS cars so loaded with options at the dealers that later on the GS buyers are going to figure out they should have waited and bought the Z.
That's right, no 2017 ZO6 cars until the GS cars are out a while. The early GS buyers will get tired of hearing, you should of gotten the Z!

I can't imagine anyone taking the first to second owner hit for a far less formidable Sting Ray in Z06 clothing. Makes no sense. The usual gang of Z06 haters here will certainly be at their full song on this one over the next year. This should be quite entertaining.

This thread is no better than the GS/Stingray guys posting that the GS is a better value than the Z06. Actually, this thread is worse. Both cars are great. What is the point of stirring the pot?

Brilliant idea, but not sure customer will get value. Cost of OEM for LT4 is more than hardware(e.g. Engineering, Valudation and Emmissions). With limited vols, hard to justify cost. If offerred with no warranty, wonder how many would buy....cuz we all know the guys doing this want to add FI, which will void warranty anyway. Re: value.... Streetvalue of blower setup is about $2500. Already have buyer for my 1.7. Will come off as soon as i find a good turbo setup.

I know a guy who went out the door on a 3LT Sting Ray to the tune of 80 grand. You can buy a 2LZ Z06 for a few bucks more. Z06 is a profound value when compared to this or the GS. Get real. A C7 Z06 is the real deal. The "I would never need that much power crew" would if they ever had it and are just ignorant or jealous.

GM lets each dealer know how many Corvettes they are allowed to order, and the individual dealer then orders the Corvette(s) the way they(the dealer) wants them built. The only exception to this is when GM places constraints on individual models, trim/options. That only restricts the dealer in what he wants to order. He can order a base Stingray with zero options or he can order a loaded model for thousands of dollars more. It's the dealers prerogative as to what he wants on his showroom floor.
The dealer orders his Corvettes built with the options he thinks will sell to HIS customers. If you are one of his customers, let him know what you are interested in buying, not this forum or GM.
