Track mode exhaust - I don't believe is wide open unless under load. My ears tell me it's closed under constant pressure, and only opens on change or increasing pressure. I could be wrong...but it sure sounds like that.

I can understand GM programming it not to stay in track mode but sometimes their programming decisions seem to make little sense. I can leave and start my 2014 ATS in either touring or sport mode but if left in weather mode it restarts in touring mode as I found out the first time I used weather mode in the snow and was expecting the same throttle mapping after stopping for fuel. Going sideways leaving the station made me aware of this questionable programming choice by GM.

My 2016 Z06 usually stays in sport mode except when rougher roads make touring a better choice.

A very good description of the NPP system function is in post 1 of this tread. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ck-result.html

It has been updated over the last two years as new information has been discovered.

Yes. Add to that list RPM and gear. Because if you add all the load you can give it under 3,500 rpm in Stealth mode it still won't open.

I have found that if you turn the car off in track mode it does default back to tour mode.but if you turn it off in sport mode it will fire back up in sport mode and the exhaust will be open and hit hard. you can also do as the others have said and turn the sound management to track mode and the exhaust will stay open all the time no matter which mode your in

track mode is preferred for any speed on the other side of 150+ couldn't pay me to do that in tour or eco mode with that terrible steering setting. plus 4cyl mode....

The exhaust will NOT stay open all the time no matter what mode you are in,. The only way to have the exhaust open all the time is pulling the fuse.

Not being mean, but why do folks respond to a 2 yr. old post. I can see first guy today, since he was probably doing a thread search for this & found this old post.

no need to apologize, (or so it seems in this post) this forum is way too sensitive. Not sure why. Everyone needs to relax and not take every post so seriously.

That's how mine is set up. I have the valves set to stay open all of the time.
