^ I believe it slightly hinders handling if anything. And some say it causes a harsher ride. I’m going to lower my Z07 on stock bolts. No cutting

Does anybody know how much the dealer charges to do this? I’d consider that if it comes with a free alignment.

I'd like to know this too as I like the slightly lowered, but non-slammed look. I know the Z07 has a tighter suspension and I certainly don't want to damage or scrape the splitter backing out of my driveway with the curb drop.

So after listening to a lot of feedback on the forums here about how Z07 cars don't lower all that far on the stock bolts, I took the plunge. (Really, pun not intended.) My local dealer did it for me.

I was a little nervous that it would result in a stance that was too raked, but I think it turned out just right, and just what I was looking for. I wanted the wheels to appear perfectly centered in the wheel arches, and I think that's what I ended up with. See if you agree.

Also, the dealer did an alignment right after lowering, which was a covered expense. (Thanks to forum members who pointed this out!)

Ride is unchanged, and no scrapes at all. Whew!

Looks good! How much did your dealer charge you to lower your car? Thanks

I just had my Z lowered about 3/4 to 1 inch.
Once it settles down, I'll post pics...hint: it looks and drives better.

these z07 cars just sit too high even lowered on stock bolts imo

4 finger gap lowered on stock bolts
LG drop spindles 1.5 finger gap

yes i I have to be a bit more careful approaching big dips but worth it to me.

GM could have easily designed the spring differently and with a longer lowering bolts so that we as the end user could have lower our cars to a better ride height with stock bolts and still get the suspension aligned to the correct specs..
I understand GM wanting them to have the ride height a little higher for loading on the delivery truck and for curbs, steep driveways ect. but give us the adjustability to lower if we decide to.

I know this thread is old, but I did the mod because of the pictures in this thread. I cut the stock bolts, one rib off the front and two off the rear. Stance looks perfect all around, two fingers tight gap in front, two fingers loose in rear. No noticeable difference in ride quality. Definitely would recommend to anyone who has a z07. I used a pcv rope cutter, and the rears were pretty easy. The fronts I needed more height difference between the control arm and lowering bolt so I had to unbolt the control arm, strut, and swaybar and lower it a bit so I could cut properly. Hopefully this helps someone down the road.

What is being cut? Like threads off the bolt?

No, the rubber pucks that rest against the control arm.

Here is a couple more pictures. Again, 1 rib cut off front and both off rear. Could use maybe just a titch lower in the rear, but oh well. Very happy with this stance for the cost of a $6 pcv cutter. Still no complaints about ride quality, feels exactly the same to me.
