Not that similar....-I had a 1990 Quasar ZR-1 (one of 19) Quasar is an almost perfect match for Laguna Blue (which I have now) - not Admiral Blue

Quasar is metallic - Admiral is not.

Has there been any confirmation that this is the exact same Admiral Blue that was on the C4s? Or just some blue they are calling AB?

I keep asking the same thing and nobody has an answer. Reports are that this new color is metallic so I think it's AB in name only. Plus it doesn't look purple like AB.

Sigh. Yes, based on the few pictures I've seen so far it doesn't look like C4 Admiral Blue to me. I was hoping that lighting conditions might have explained it. But if there is metallic in the paint it definitely IS NOT AB from the C4 era. Why is it so damn hard for GM to get this stuff right?

And now we have BROWN. F!

Exactly... AB is my favorite Corvette color ever. I would have bought one in a heartbeat.

Looks like we need to see a side by side of the "new Admiral Blue" and the Laguna Blue since the thread consensus seems to be that the "new Admiral Blue" is not the same as the old Admiral Blue.

Here are the "original" Quasar, Admiral and Laguna's....

Quasar and Laguna look real close to me - the original Admiral is deeper and without the metallic. Happy I was able to get my Laguna before it was discontinued.

Thanks for the comparison pictures. That is a real good representation of the different Blues. My brother had a 90 Quasar Blue, nice looking color, especially when it is clean. I haven't seen many Admiral Blues but that will change since that will be a new color for 17. Laguna Blue is an Awesome color, too bad it is being discontinued.

As someone with a 96 Grand Sport I can assure you, from looking at these photos, it is not the Admiral Blue of the C4. Also, I saw the blue Caddy at the NYIAS. Stunning blue, but again not Admiral Blue of C4.

I also had an Electron Blue C5Z06 and can attest, that is the best blue!

Best,
Gene

C6 Le Mans Blue was the best blue ever offered IMO.
