Our car shop is shut down from 6/27-7/5 for a epoxy floor re-coating. After that I'm going to try to sneak it in before Track Attack (7/15) but customer's cars come first.

Price TBA

Obviously if a modified engine with more power doesn't overheat then stock will do even better.
Rod failure, a stock rod that gave in and made a BIG hole :-)
No warranty, go figure...

Can you point out which parts in the pic are for brake cooling or is that a separate kit for more money? Will you be testing what kind of brake cooling performance is taking place over/under stock? Will there be a cheaper grill option in carbon flash metallic? Very interested in the kit.

The triangular pieces at the bottom of the picture are the lower control arm mounted brake ducts. There are a couple more pieces to that which they are sending me in the next few days. A spindle duct and some hose. We will be adding the brake cooling because the grille area normally used for the brake cooling duct will now be used for the heat exchanger. At this time there is no plan for a lower cost carbon flash grille trim.

If these kits are pricey, this will be a mistake. Guys tracking their cars will likely care far more about cooling results and cost than having an aesthetics-only carbon fiber grill insert. And many owners have painted carbon flash trim rather than visible carbon, so to those who value the aesthetics this part won't jive. It'll be a turn off to pay a large sum for this kit (particularly for aesthetics one doesn't need) only to then need additional paint work to match the car.

The cost is in the labor time for the layup, which will not decrease significantly with fiberglass ready for paint. Add the paint cost and you'll be close to carbon fiber.

Most of us who are tracking are willing to pay quite a bit to get temps under control. Would I like everything to match perfectly, of course, but I'd much rather have a car that can run all day without cooling issues. I can always get exposed to match in the off season.

How do you test at high speed? I assume replace the van with another Z06

No! You tie bits of sting to the car and film what they do! Lol

Smoke wands are hardly used these days in aero tunnels used by OEMs. They tend to monitor what they want either off the rolling floor or from models / the car itself.

Most aero work is vertual these days though. Even in F1 were they are limited to processing volumes (as its much quicker and cheaper) wind tunnels are only used to confirm what the computers are telling you.

For high-speed testing, we have the German motorway and a lot of measuring equipment. We will send Jason the results and photos, let him the post here.

Looks like a good volume of flow through the intercoolers and out the wheel wells.

GM owns the largest and most technologically advanced wind tunnel test facility on the planet. Most of the OEM's pay to use it...and they still use wands with glycol smoke.
